See the stables and the famous white Lipizzan horses. The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world which has practiced for more than 450 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the Haute Ecole – which can also be found on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. We will not get into the riding school, but will have good views to the inner court yard, where the horses do live from September to July.

Our family of 5 had the best private tour of Vienna thanks to Peter owner of WIENGUIDE PRIVATE TOURS. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a personal, up-close, and wonderful experience of the beautiful sites Vienna has to offer. From the first email with Peter I knew I selected the right Private Guide. He asked me a few questions about what we are looking for in a tour. I told him a little about my husband, our 3 children (all girls - ages 17, 19 and 21) and I. We requested to visit every location others had ranted and raved about in his many 5 star reviews.  We first met Peter when he picked us up in his extremely luxurious Mercedes van at our hotel to transport us on the first day of our 2 day tour. Our tour was supposed to begin with a walking tour but due to inclement weather Peter recommended we change our itinerary. I’m thankful for his recommendation so we would be more comfortable and enjoy the sites. He showed us some amazing, beautiful sites!!! Peter speaks excellent English. He will take you to unique places and tell stories that make what you are seeing come alive. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, laid back, professional and a very careful driver and clearly wants to give you the best experience possible. He is a local and loves his home very much. He shared the rich history of his city and country. He had wonderful stories to tell of his childhood and his family- this made the tour very enjoyable. Whatever you're looking for, he'll find it. Peter tailored the trip to our ability and comfort level. He is willing to accommodate everyone's comfort level, gently encouraging each of us to experience each of these unique locations to the fullest. Our tour took us through many sites including Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace and Saint Stephen’s Cathedral.  Peter set the perfect pace for our two day tour and we left feeling as though we'd made a friend.  It was absolutely one of the best, if not the best, days of the trip. He knew the answer to almost every question we asked him. The scenery was breathtaking! We have the most amazing pictures of our trip! He was very kind and took family photos for us.  If you're doing a tour of Vienna (which you should be), do yourself a favor and book Peter! The cost of the tour was extremely reasonable and he's worth every penny! Skip the group tours that take you to only the big tourist spots, on their schedule. Peter’s tours are totally customized, you'll see significantly more, and you'll be a lot more comfortable in his van than a tour bus. It's really like hanging out with a friend, who happens to know all the best spots. No need to plan ahead, take your rental car on the roads of Vienna and risk damage, figure out your way around or where to park, wonder if you saw everything you should have or end up in divorce court because of your husbands driving. Just call Peter get your camera ready, and let him take care of everything else. You'll be glad you did! Highly recommended for all ages!

The commentary by our guide was great. Good information without being too much. We did get a good overview of the City.

Peter was amazing! The tour was perfect. He explained everything and was very accommodating to suit us at every moment without jeopardizing any part of the tour. The car was total luxury, so comfortable and relaxing! Peter was extremely professional and you could tell he was an expert guide! Would definitely recommend him!

We did a private half-day car tour of Vienna with Max in late July, 2023, and liked it so much, we did a private tour of Schönbrunn with him later that week. He is very knowledgeable about Vienna and Austrian history, and conveys his interest and passion in it so well. He's able to get places we wouldn't have found or known about, skip lines, and point out what's really important about a site, painting, or sculpture. We would highly recommend Wienguide Tours and Max in particular.

Our tour guide Elimar (he is fluent in six languages) was very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained us everything along the way and answered every question. It’s amazing how much history we learned in a few hours. Elimar’s passion for Vienna history is contagious. After taking us to all the sights in the city, we had a delicious traditional lunch at a winery on the top of the mountains. We definitely recommend Elimar and this beautiful tour to anyone.

Exceptional. Peter is not only incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna and its history, but he also has a wonderful sense of humor and imparts the details in a thoroughly fun and interesting way. We hung on his every word! We booked a private tour around Vienna and to Schönbrunn Palace under Peter's guidance, and to say everyone loved his style and the tour itself would be an understatement. Plus he also catered for our multi-lingual group with ease. Amazing on every level and we had a wonderful day. I would use Peter again in a heartbeat and have passed his details to several of the group who would like to use him again and/or recommend to friends and family travelling to Vienna. Peter can also help with coaches if needed and gave some great guidance for our trip overall. Superb – highly recommended.

My wife and I took a private four-hour tour guided by Max. Max is a young man with knowledge of Austria and a gift for being a professional guide that are beyond his years. Some of this is owed to the tour company is a family enterprise. Max was accommodating at every turn and open to all questions that we would ask – and he had the answers. His historical knowledge is deep. We highly recommend Max and his associated company for being professional, friendly, knowledgeable and fun at every turn.

Perfect first day in Vienna … “lovely city what should we see? Let’s book a private tour… “ best investment for your Vienna visit! Max met us at hotel with an extremely comfortable vehicle and warm outgoing personality. He knows so much and kept us entertained with energetic details and stories as we drove. We were jet lagged so keeping us going shows his skills! Of course we stopped at some fabulous places, which we are going to revisit this week. No rush, no worries private tour - if you want to “hang out” at a great location or restaurant, enjoy. Take his recommendations on “should see, should eat, should drink.” He knows the places and the people. In fact - my family is trying to hire him for another trip as I write. We took his card and are going to ensure anyone going to Austria knows Max & Company. Best first day you can have in Vienna.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with our guide Max. He was friendly and fun but also had a wealth of information on the city and was able to answer any questions we had. The tour really gave us an insight into Vienna’s history and present day culture. We loved it! The only advice I would give is to make sure of your meeting place ahead of time. We were a little confused at the beginning but other than that everything was great.
