Your Itinerary

Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands Expereince

Experience the beautiful bush surrounds while you learn about Ngilgi's rich history - from the fascinating Aboriginal Dreamtime story describing the battle between a good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil spirit (Wolgine). The cave now takes its name from this rich Aboriginal legend. However, it was formerly known as Yallingup Cave, when the first tourists arrived in 1899. Your guide will regale you with stories of these early cave tourists - of candlelight tours, romantic escapades and close encounters - as you make your way down into the cave. You will then be free to discover the beauty of Ngilgi Cave on your own. Extensive boardwalks lead you through the impressive chambers of this underground wonderland. Along the way, lighting illuminates hidden marvels and signage allows you to learn more about the remarkable crystal cave decorations.  Another guide stationed in the centre of the cave can answer questions and provide more information on the many beautiful areas within the cave. Discover new chambers and formations at every turn, including the 'Fairy Cave' and 'Cupid's Corner'. There is also a junior explorer's tunnel to provide fun for little ones!

There are many beautiful caves in this region but this cave gives the full experience in terms of the types of formations and also the geniuine cave experience (watch your head). The kids loved the ‘kids crawl through’. A lot of work has been done to create an informative walk to the cave entrance, and also the kids playground.

Having heard about the caves when staying in the area, we decided to book the 'self guided' tour. The tour can last as long as you wish and it took us around 90mins. It was truly spectacular is the best way to describe these caves. If you have mobility issues the steps and the width of some of the pathways may cause some difficulties, but in general its fine. There are staff spread around both inside and out. We found them to be really knowledgeable and keen to help out and answer any questions. Well worth the drive and thoroughly recommended.

The site is beautiful. Amazing natural creation inside the cave system, but also interesting external information. Guides were really friendly and happy to see you and answer questions. Highly recommend a visit.

What an absolute delight. Was not originally on our radar for the trip, however, glad we made the decision. Well run, great staff with clear direction and very safe (remember to duck occasionally). Spectacular views inside, with well devised walkways. So happy we did this.

We had an amazing time venturing down into these truly wonderful caves. There a a fair few steps and some tight squeezes but I'm 66 and managed easily enough. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and we would certainly recommend this trip

The cave was nice and cool, we were the last family in at 4pm. The tour guides in the tour were very helpful and informative. There were lots of steps and narrow spaces. It was beautiful learning about the rocks and formations. Kids enjoyed learning and exploring as well

Fantasic Cave well worth seeing. Be mindfull they have maximum amounts of people that can go in the cave. We went in the afternoon easier to get around , less people in the cave.

Great experience with helpful and informative advice. Amazing to think the caves are thousands and thousands of years old. Not for people that are not good with stairs, as there are alot. Would definitely recommend.

Not cheap at £15 but worthwhile. There is an interesting boardwalk trail beforehand to learn about how the cave was created. Cave is amazing. Be prepared for lots of steps, narrow bits and low head height.
