Your Itinerary

BeerWalk

We start in pub “The Royal Moustache”, home of the moustache club and a lot of excellent beers.

Highlander Cafe

A real Scottish pub on one of the most beautiful squares in Antwerp. A very rich history and an even richer beer menu…

Refill

Just outside the busy tourist centre. A place where you can relax and refill your energy. With beer of course…

De Ware Jacob

An authentic folk café in the heart of Antwerp. Here we drink a very exclusive beer with a somewhat naughty history…

Grand Café De Rooden Hoed

In the heart of the historic centre, we end our BeerWalk. The Majestic café the ‘Red Hat’ is the oldest pub in Antwerp. So a lot to tell and luckily also something to taste…

Fantastic tour with the incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic JP. Gave us a a great insight into the city and it’s beer traditions and bars. He took us to five great bars and his beer choice was really interesting. The last pub we went to off the Hoogsstraat was the best. Highly recommend this your. All 11 of us thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great tour! This was a great way to learn about the city but to also learn about and enjoy Belgium beer! Our tour guide, Ariel, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We even had couple with us that doesn’t like beer and they also really enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend Beer/Walk Antwerp!

A good way to see the sights while enjoying good beers. The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would gladly recommend for groups of friends.

The beer walk exceeded all expectations. The guide was amazing, friendly and very knowledgable. It really wouldn’t be the same without such a great guide. I would recommend this to young and old, and especially anyone who likes good beer and pub history.

Such a fantastic tour with an enjoyable host. We got to sample several beers and see sights along the way. We learned so much and had an amazing experience.

My partner and I arrived being the only English couple out of all the attendees, so we ended up having more of a private tour! Our guide Pet Aerden was very knowledgeable and exceptionally pleasant; despite the pouring rain, he was determined to complete the tour, and made it very enjoyable. Even my partner, who is usually ambivalent to beer, said it was very informative! I highly recommend BeerWalk Antwerp.

Completely not what we had anticipated - in all the best ways. Pet Aerden, our guide, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. Having not read things properly, we had planned our day too tightly, so had to cut the tour shorter than planned. Pet was extremely understanding and worked some magic so we got the vast majority of the tour in record time. Additionally, we were only expecting a brief history of Belgian beer, but had a masterclass is brewing, the history of Antwerp and how intricately the industry was intertwined in the formation and fabric of the city, country and Europe itself. All with great conversation, anecdotes and fantastic (FANTASTIC) beer. We would highly recommend the tour to anyone wanting to get a deeper understanding of Belgium and Antwerp (just don't plan anything that requires too much effort afterwards - the beer is amazing).

Guide was extremely knowledgeable & knew his beer very well. Fun experience, I recommend it to others.

The BeerWalk in Antwerp was exactly what we were looking for and the best possible way to learn about the history of beer in Belgium. Also, if you thought you knew about beer before, you will know even more once you leave the BeerWalk. Not only will you try some beer that is ONLY available on the walk, but you also will leave with your own glass and even a list of pubs/breweries to check out in another city such as Amsterdam. If you only do one tour while visiting Antwerp this should be it.

If it wasn’t for the great tour fellows we had, this rating would even be worse. The guide was not helpful at all. Her English was just not good enough to guide people and she was more into texting with her mobile than into entertaining us with facts and stories about beer, breweries and history. Apart from the stop at „The Highlander“ (with a great Xmas beer) and the „De Ware Jacob“ (a nice triple blonde), the other locations were a bit boring. We did not get to drink five beers in five different locations and we had to make decisions concerning the type of beer we wanted on our own. Our tour fellows from Bulgaria saved the tour by suggesting a fifth and final location, which should be a must for every tour: Pelgrom. For beer lovers a must. We are glad we took the tour, but only because we had the best and most polite tour fellows one could wish for. The rest was expedited drinking experience at a very low level. By the way: we had to pay the fifth beer on our own, though it was included on the tour. And no souvenir glass in the end. Don’t book the English tour!!!
