We thought this would be a good activity for a rainy afternoon in Bruges. We paid 11 euros each for our tickets. This came with a voucher for .50 cents reduction on a portion of chips at the end of the tour. The portion of chips cost 3.30 so it wasn’t much of a discount. Contrast this with the very excellent brewery tour we did this morning where we all received a free glass of beer at the end. The frietmuseum is very old fashioned. Basically it’s like someone printed out the Wikipedia page on potatoes onto lots of posters and then stuck them on the walls. The information itself is ok but it could be updated into the modern age with something more interactive/digital. I think today’s children would find it puzzling. Anyway, we were in and out within 15 minutes, rather a waste of 11 Euros, in my opinion.

Went here with great expectations, left absolutely disappointed. The museum is not interactive and the interactive bit like the quiz and games were all broken (we haven't been told before going in). The cloakroom is not checked despite being behind the till so if you leave your stuff is at your own risk. There is some amazing information at the beginning about potatoes and then nothing else. Just memorabilia with no explanation whatsoever. Great art but again no explanation. Oh also IT DOESN'T COME WITH FRIES so there is no trying. They cost 2.80 euros and with your ticket you get 0.40 euro off it (just fries not drinks ,menu or anything else) , long waiting and not that good (in my opinion). I won't recommend going here unless you don't have anything else to do and outside is pouring rain. It was a waste of money.

Bought a combi-ticket at the chocolate story museum, which made the entrance fee more worthwhile. It didn't take too long to go around, but we found out some interesting facts about potatoes and their health benefits! Came out hungry for fries (didn't bother with the cafe!) A good way to spend an hour on a rainy day, better than expected.

Got a reduced-price ticket as we visited the chocolate museum. Really interesting place. Who knew there were so many uses for potatoes or varieties of them? Good, cheap food in the cafe.

We were looking forward to this museum before we even got to Bruges. It did not disappoint! We learned a lot and were highly entertained. The potato gun game was fun and the frite cabaret was incredible and we're still singing it days later. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....mayonnaise.

Great museum to fill up a couple of hours, super English translation and wonderful friets available to buy at the end!

The exposition was quite interesting, lot of written text, some activities for kids. But ok. What wasn't ok was food there. I expect there will be delicious fries, prepared the right way, but they weren't.

We decided that this quirky museum would appeal to our younger children, 9 and 6, and visited on an unseasonably rainy July day. On arrival we were advised the audio guides were only available for selected languages. This disappointed the children a tad, and made the experience feel a little segregated. Museum, as expected for the recommended visit time of 38minutes. The children liked the coin souvenir machine, nice designs. My main issue, hence the star rating, was the fries! In the last room prior to the cafe there is a video playing of how to make the best Belgium fries. The signage next to it reads that they are cooked in beef fat. I think this should be flagged at the reception area, not hidden away as a special surprise towards the very end! There wasn’t anything vegetarian friendly in the cafe. Tiny sign regarding allergies, on wall, not particularly focal. Appreciate this won’t affect a lot of people, or detract from personal enjoyment, just mentioning for any fellow veggies!

Lots of information for mainly the younger ones. Went with a party of 8 adults all with a neutral opinion. Whilst the chips were good, these are an additional cost to entry

Basically just a few rooms with information boards on the walls. Information that you can find easily on the internet. No in-depth information. No interactive things. Oh, you do get a 40 cent discount on french fries. Yay! The ticket would have paid for 4 portions of french fries though. Save your money for something that is actually fun or interesting.
