The highlight of our Bulgaria trip! We were worried about whether the experience would be worth it considering it is about 3h30 drive from Sofia (so 7h both ways), but it was absolutely incredible. The rocks/fortress are incredible but the best part is the view at the top of them, simply breathtaking! Pictures don't do it justice at all. Our driver and guide Ventsislav was so great and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the rocks, fortress and the good spots for pictures or interesting facts. The experience also felt very private in a way as you share it with a group of 5-7 people, so that's an added bonus. We ended up visiting the Magura cave as the Venetsa Cave was closed, and it was very impressive and enjoyable. Absolutely no negatives about the day overall and well worth the time and money. 10/10, absolutely recommend and a must-do!

This is amongst one of the famous attractions in Bulgaria The old fortress is covered with cobblestones walk paths There are two major steel-plated stairways to climb up to the top(which is approximately 30 steps or so) but the gradient is quite steep which is not suitable for visitors with mobility problems The rock formation is quite interesting as it gives you a different perspective when the sun comes out and also depends on the different times of the day. It is quite picturesque Upon reaching the top(approximately 20 minutes of climbing you will have a birds-eye view of the entire valley

We went with Ventsislav, who by far made this trip memorable showing us some of the greatest view places. He was very chilled out and the day ran very smoothly. Personally think a small group like this is much better to get the most from the trip.

Wonderful tour guide. He also helped us climb some parts of the trail which was only difficult due to my twisted ankle. If you’re going here don’t hesitate to use, highly recommend

I wrote a longer review on the Viator listing for this tour, but WOW. Seriously spectacular. Ventsislav rocks! Must do, can’t miss.

Best day ever! My friends and I were visiting Sofia and got picked up/dropped off at the Intercontinental. Ventsislav was right on time and had an awesome car (Mercedes shuttle van). I get motion sick so he was also very kind in letting me sit up front. Ventsislav has a fantastic attitude, is kind and pleasant, and has a degree in tourism that really shows — he knows the answers to every question you ask! Ventsislav was even willing to schedule a private tour with us for the very next day to hike Rila, which was the other best day ever. He really made our trip, and we are all looking forward to returning to Bulgaria for another adventure with him as our guide! Thanks :)

The whole tour was memorable: after about three hours by car we reached the Belogradchik fortress and we reached the top of the rocks with amazing views of natural landscapes. After lunch we were inside Venetsa cave with spectacular stalactites, stalagmites and stalactons. We reached the lowest part of the cave. Ventsislav was a fantastic guide, very kind, giving us all the information and available for any need. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience I would highly recommend. From my initial website enquiry to whatsapp messages before the trip the communication was always quick and helpful. Ventislav was a great guide and driver. I had a wonderful day exploring these incredible sights, an absolute highlight of my time in the Balkans.
