Shouldn't be sold as a brewery visit. We made the most of it and we had fun meeting up with other people, but this is a pub crawl. Firstly, you will visit a restaurant bar to have a pint. Then you will go to a bar owned by Paulaner's. That's the only brewery you will see and don't expect anything big, it's just the brewery for the bar itself. The guide did a great job explaining the processes, but bear in mind that the entrance to the bar is free and the only good thing is that you will access to the fermentation room and the beans room. Then, after having a drink at the bar, you go to HB, which is also free and open to the public. The guide brings you to the bar and leaves you there, there are no reserved seats, so if you go in high season, don't expect to be seated.. I'm writing this review just because I felt cheated with description and hopefully someone else finds it useful. I'd say if you want to visit these 2 places, you'd be better doing it on your own, no need to spend this much.

We had a wonderful time with our tour guide Noel, can’t recommend enough! He made it a truly interesting experience with not only information on the Bavarian beer and breweries but also historical facts and tips for our stay. If we could give home more than 5 stars we would! His tour was one of the highlights of our visit.

Tour is great if you just want to have a beer with some new people. Tour not so good if you’re interested in learning about brewing in Munich and Bavaria. Despite having 7+ years taking the tour Wolfgang was unable to provide much info beyond the basics.

Thomas was very knowledgeable about the history of beer in Munich and we enjoyed hearing him tell it. He was funny and kind and we would most definitely do another tour with Thomas!

Difficult to find tour guide at start of the tour, as it was near the ChristKindlMarkt in Munich. And there was an English-speaking group and a German-speaking group… about 4 feet apart. The English group had around 23 and after a brief introduction we headed for our first destination. Now I’ve never given tours to folks who don’t speak the native language, but I don’t think that trying to get 23 people onto public transportation on a Friday evening around 4:45 is the wisest idea. After we got off the train the guide decided to take a count and asked the group if we still had everyone one!!! Luckily we all made it to the first brewery and the guide conducted a well organized and thoughtful description of the brewing process. We viewed an active fermentation and had a sample before moving onto the second destination. All 23 of us decided to walk instead of taking public transportation and we arrived safely. Another brief history lesson followed by another round of samples and we started for our final destination. We arrived at the Hofbrauhaus around 8:00 on Friday night - and as expected - were unable to seat 23 people. A few members of the tour tried to get a table for dinner while others bade farewell.
