Your Itinerary

Niederwald Monument (Niederwalddenkmal)

Full Day Rhine Tour: After approx. 50 minutes we will reach the Rhine Valley by bus. Drive along the river banks, then up the hills to the Niederwald Monument. Enjoy a fantastic view over the valley and the beauty of its nature. If you like you can join the delightful ride with the ropeway down into the valley (only in summertime), it is available on a small extra fee. Right at the river edge, a short walk leads to the restaurant, a lovely place in Ruedesheim-Assmannshausen. A light lunch is served at this richly decorrated and furnished place with original antiquities. Drinks as well as dessert are not included in the lunch arrangements. We will leave the restaurant and walk to the pier to embark one of the typical white Rhine steamer ships. Slowly downstreaming the most beautiful part of the valley passengers will enjoy the stunning scenic beauty of the river panorama.

Loreley

Approx. one and a half hour later we have reached the famous Loreley Rock: The famous poem of Heinrich Heine describes the beautiful female sitting on the cliff above the Rhine and combing her golden hair, distracting shipmen with her beauty and song, causing them to crash on the rocks. At St. Goarshausen we will disembark. After the boat ride we will return alongside the river banks by bus, the road leads directly along the Rhine shores. Time for another rest: we offer a wine tasting. Those who do not want to attend may enjoy free time for a private stroll, photo shooting, a cup of coffee or just watching the ships going by up and down the river.

Drosselgasse

The excursion is slowly coming to an end. A last little distance along the river and, if time allows, a short stop in the old village of Ruedesheim for a bit souvenir shopping and on we got the access the highway back to Frankfurt Half Day Rhine Tour (in the afternoon): For those with less than a full day to spare, choose the half-day Rhine Valley Trip to enjoy a Rhine river cruise (from Kaub to Assmannshausen) followed by a wine-tasting session and dinner.

This was a great day. We had beautiful weather and the lunch was excellent. Really enjoyed the riverboat cruise. Our guide and driver Michael really made the trip special. I highly recommend this trip, especially in good weather.

Michael (I'm sure spelled wrong) our driver and guide was very good, kind, enthusiastic, accommodating and all the good things you want from a tour guide. The part that wad weird and not for everyone (some people might like it), was the restaurant we went to for lunch. When you are effected by environments this is not the place for you. And overly decorated hodge podge of "stuff" along with a wait person, possibly the owner/operator was not very warm. She seemed like her priority was about making additional money off of us, then just what was included with the tour. I paid 8,80 euro for 2 bottles of water. And it was very obvious gratuities were expected. Another person in my party had extras and they paid cash and never got their change back. And then we came back after the cruise fr a wine tasting (a sip) which was obviously a way to muster up additional funds for the same restaurant. The river boat cruise was AMAZING, the vessel and crew were fantastic. It's definitely the best way to see a portion of the Unesco Site of the Rhein. You will be appreciative of the costs of the tour once you see a viking river boat cruise by and think of how much they are paying vs. what you are paying. Where the cost of this tour comes into play, is the luxury of having Michael drop you off and pick you up and make the drive and a very comfortable 20 person bus, with approx 1 hour each way. We also had a stop at the amazing large bronze statue at a park at the top of the hill, was absolutely beautiful. Over all I'm very pleased with this experience. Do I think you could do this all cheaper on your own, sure, but the convenience is the custom service to you. This would be a 5 star review if it was a different restaurant experience both for lunch and wine tasting.

Really enjoyed the trip, the tour guide was excellent with a great sense of humour. I thought that this was excellent value for money

Definitely the highlight of our trip. In particular, the river cruise. We didn't want it to end. We were so enamored with all the different towns, castles, and churches along the river. The wine tasting in the quirky restaurant was also fun. Our guide was informative and funny. Fond memories.

Viewing of the castles was outstanding. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The lunch was really good. Wine tasting was at the same place as the lunch. The amount of wine we tasted was less than desirable. my understanding is a 4 ounce pours normal for a wine tasting.

We especially liked our guide Willi, he was knowledgeable, considerate, and very funny as he told us many facts about the region as we drove! We loved the cruise on the Rhine , it was beautiful! The lunch was also very good in a very interesting and well decorated restaurant ! Thank you Willi for making our trip so special yesterday! Sue and Jon from Florida!

Super day adventure. The guide was a wealth of information. The lunch was great. We had a choice between pork schnitzel and a beef hot dog type meal. The schnitzel was the better of the two in my opinion. The pork was lean and flavourful. The cruise was a very new boat. This is off peak season so our group of 16 people were the only ones on this huge boat. They served desserts and drinks and the service was great there too. We saw a lot of castles. After the cruise we went back to the same restaurant on the way back for wine tasting. Tiny tastes of wine, but it was a nice experience. Our guide explained the local wines, etc. The restaurant was an experience in itself! Impossible to fully explain: It was full of carvings and glass with the most beautiful lighting and ambience. We stopped briefly for souvenir shopping while the driver got gas and I bought a cuckoo clock. It will be a family heirloom. It was $100 cheaper than in Frankfurt city center.

We had such a pleasant experience and our tour guide Michel was excellent! He made the trip absolutely fantastic. He gave so many fun facts about the beauty of the Rhine, and even had some fun jokes to share along the way. The ride was comfortable and wine tasting was excellent!

Amazing value and such beautiful views. Driving down the roads and then seeing the beautiful views from the river were awesome. I was able to take a ton of photos!
