We have just had one amazing tour of wine districts around Bordeaux. First stop was Chateau Carbonnieux ( Grand Cru Classe de Graves). We got to see the production and storage / maturation facilities. This was followed by a tasting of their current white and red vintages. Second stop was Chateau Palais Cardinal (Saint Emilion Grand Cru). As well as getting to taste some excellent wines we had a picnic lunch there. This was followed by a walk through the historic village of Saint Emilion. It was very scenic. Please be aware that there are cobble stones and some short steep sections so wear appropriate foot wear. Along the way we visited a wine shop and a charcuterie. Both provided tastings of their products. We also visited a historic church and saw some very old frescoes. There was nothing too difficult in the walk and it was well worth the effort. The final stop was just outside the village at Chateau Le Chatelet (Grand Cru Classe). Absolutely superb wines accompanied by an informative talk from Virginie. Please note that all tasting was done responsibly in small serves. If you’re looking to get smashed, this is not the tour for you. If you want to see some wonderful country, taste some superb wines, and develop your understanding of the Appellation system you will not be disappointed. Our guide / driver, Maud, was wonderful. I noticed that the staff at the wineries and wine shop all treated her with genuine respect and affection. No doubt because they realise she is very knowledgeable on the subject of the wines, the production processes, culture and history. She certainly contributed to my learning experience on the day. She demonstrated a concern for safety of tour participants, describing the walk through the village so we could all be prepared to complete it safely. There was also an incident near the end of the tour where a bus veered into our lane. Her quick response avoided a collision. Great driving, Maud!

The whole experience was amazing, our guide Maud was friendly and accommodating - she never put pressure on us to hurry up, even when we overran (not her fault either!) I would definitely recommend if you're visiting the city for a few days.

We had the best day on our tour with Jon! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. Each winery had something unique to see and taste, and all the wines were fabulous. The town of St Emillion was beautiful, and our picnic lunch was AMAZING! Fresh meat and cheese, soup, salad, quiche. Everything was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. This is the #1 tour if you are in Bordeaux!

We were in Bordeaux on a hen do weekend. Jon and Lena organised an amazing private day trip for me and the group of 10 girls! It was a brilliant day out, informative and good fun! They had plenty of great recommendations for around the city and were more than happy to help us with anything during our stay!! 10/10 from us! Thanks for a great day! Would 100% book again when we return!

The tour was absolutely fantastic. Our guide took us to a couple of great wineries, plus a cute chocolate shop.

This was an ideal way to spend a day getting to know a few areas of the Bordeaux region with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Clement, a Bordeaux native, was friendly and obviously loves what he does, and he took every opportunity as we drove--from Bordeaux city to Pessac-Leognan then to Saint-Émilion to visit a total of three châteaux--to learn more about those in our group and tailor his comments toward our already existing wine knowledge. We also got to spend time walking around the tiny medieval village of Saint-Émilion and had a lovely surprise tasting there, as well. Lunch was delightful and filling, and I had plenty as a vegetarian (which I'd alerted them to ahead of time). We left with a lot more information than we already knew about wine in general and Bordeaux specifically, and Clement also offered wonderful recommendations for the rest of our stay in the city; if you're there on a Sunday morning, don't miss having oysters and white wine at Marché des Capucins--Clement says you're considered 50% French if you do that! I highly recommend this tour and would look for the opportunity to take any others offered by these guides if I'm ever fortunate enough to be back in the area.

Clem was a very good host. We learned history and technical details and it was never boring. The weather didn't cooperate, but it was still great. We're already planning another Bordeaux trip.

We had a great day with Clement on what wound up being a tour for just two of us, given our schedule and others not booking that day. No problem! Clem helped guide us along to the three chateaus and a lovely walking tour in St. Emilion. He also had a great approach of not getting involved in wine sale time - which is great and makes it not feel like you’re being worked by the tour company. All in all, we had a delightful day and would love to do it again!

Highly recommend!! Our guide was informative and engaging. We visited multiple wineries and sampled a few different wines at each. A delicious lunch was provided in our tour, as well as a tour of the town of Saint Emilion. One of the best experiences we had while in France.

“Absolutely fabulous time. Jonathan was funny and couldn’t have been more knowledgable. That’s a great combination. We appreciated the various wineries, the lovely picnic lunch, and the general mood of the tour. Highly recommended!”
