Traditionally Easter is a Christian occasion celebrating the return of Jesus from the dead and is a major event around the world. The date of Easter can move each year based on the Lunisolar calendar (combination of solar year and Moon phases). As a holiday there can be many days to look forward to from Good Friday, Easter Sunday and in some locations Easter Monday.

Easter is not just celebrated by Christians and has now become an important part of most people’s social calendar. With many countries having public holidays, Easter is a chance to meet with friends and family over a long weekend.

Easter is often seen as being a part of Spring; and dining can be themed around the best food and vegetables available at this time of year.
