For many people Valentines Day is about couples and romance, but many people (especially if they are single) love to have a party and enjoy the party! Look through your friends, family, and colleagues to see who is single or would just be happy to attend and start planning your Valentines celebration.

The date is 14th February, and love is the theme, so consider lots of hearts, balloons, and Cupids for your decorations, perhaps it could be a fancy dress party? Many people adore dressing up in costumes and wear masks for that element of surprise and mystery. Extra mystery could be provided with a Valentines themed murder mystery activity, perhaps called "Love and Death on the Orient Express"?

If you are creating your own DIY event, catering can be themed around romance, and many suppliers will provide a range of Valentines themed dishes and buffet options. A chocolate fountain will add a bit of fun, as may themed cocktails. Your guests will love the opportunity to be served by a professional mixologist.

If you are not hosting, but looking to join a shared event, many restaurants and venues will have themed evening entertainment including live music; and many river boats will host boat parties at this time of year. Many shared events will be "anti" Valentines, and just purely about having fun with less emphasis on flowers and hearts.
