Johann was a great guide he picked us up and dropped us off near our Airbnb. We used the manual bikes and had a lovely ride on a nice and sunny day. We highly recommend booking a tour with Johann. It's a great way to see the Highlands and get out of the city. If you're active cyclist you'll find the Highland ride is at a leisurely pace and great for enjoying the scenery. The lunch stop also had good food and we recommend getting the fish and chips.

If I could give a rating above "excellent" for this experience, I would. My wife and I loved this tour. Our only complaint is that we wish we'd been able to keep riding longer. The service and professionalism of the tour guide, Johan, was great and went out of his way to put together a memorable tour and make everything work. He knows the area and was able to answer all of our questions and help us get to know the country better. We'd spent most of our visit to Scotland in the cities, so this was a great opportunity to see the countryside while not cooped up in a motor vehicle. I would definitely recommend going on the extra hike that is optional on the itinerary. It's a steep climb but the view is more than worth it. Bike tours are the best way to see both cities and countryside -- you are going slow enough that you can soak up the scenery but going fast enough that we get to see lots of different places and experience the areas. This bike tour was a great way to explore a small part of the national park while getting a taste of the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Always book a bike tour when in Europe, and if you're in the area, book this tour too. It's worth a full day.

This was a wonderful e-bike tour through beautiful countryside. Johann runs a one-man operation and took us on a great ride that was exhilarating but not difficult. There were multiple stops to look at the views and for a leisurely lunch in a great little restaurant, as well as a beautiful half-hour hike up through the forest to a historic viewpoint. The bikes were in great shape and we had no issues. He constantly thought about our needs and making the tour perfect for us. Highly recommended!

We had a great ride with Johann recently on the Highlands Bike Tour. Pickup was prompt right outside our hotel. The van is spacious and comfortable. The route is beautiful and the e-bikes made it feel like we could go on for hours, even with the hills. There is a stop at a small cafe in the middle of the tour with a reasonably priced and delicious menu. We really enjoyed the stops to Doune Castle and the short hike above Balquhidder Kirk and all of the knowledge Johann shared about the history of the area. We were in the UK for 10 days, many of them spent in cities, so being able to go out into the Highlands and experience the beautiful natural scenery was a real highlight of our trip.

My mother, girlfriend, and I had a wonderful experience with Johann and the Tartan Bicycle Company (Tartan Bike Tours) in the Scottish Highlands, Sept 2023. Johann picked us up at our accommodation in his red support van, provided all the necessary cycling gear (outside of clothing), and drove us 2-hrs north of Edinburgh to Pitlochry. He is a capable and thoughtful guide, supporting us with guidance (pre-programmed Garmin), food, and repairs (flats happens). Tartan offers a good selection of bicycles from e-bikes for mom (64F) to speedier options for me (33M). He mentioned he will also have Gravel Bikes for rent. There are some really nice trails in that area for all sorts of cycling enthusiasts and Johann offered insightful knowledge of many different options. There was one section of trail where Johann rode with us for a bit to help us ford a small mudslide blocking the path. He is truly connected to the trails and has good feeling/experience to anticipate any issues that may arise. Can't say thanks enough, we had an amazing experience and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Cheers!

A most excellent adventure. Johann couldn't have been a better guide and fountain of knowledge. Wonderful routes and scenery. His skills and direction were first class. Our group comprised of cyclists of all skills and he was so supportive. HIs sense of humour made the whole day only better. Highly recommend him. KW

We had a wonderful trip. Johann was so friendly and informative. We were picked up at our hotel. Johann added interesting Scottish stories and played contemporary Scottish music for us in the van. The scenery was breathtaking. I would recommend this trip for anyone. We rented the e-bikes and it was a easy ride even on the hills.

This was a fantastic day trip in the Highlands. Very well organized. From the pick up at the B&B , the van ride to the start of the tour , great equipment , nice orientation to use of it and personable , helpful guiding along a wonderfully scenic route, just long enough with a short hike to a viewpoint about mid way . This day plan had it all. Our group loved Johann the owner / guide of Tartan Bicycle . We said we’ll definitely be back with more buddies in the future . Highly recommended . Oh yes -I forgot to mention the wonderful spot selected for the lunch - the best food !! I could go on and on - but you need to book it for yourself.

The highland bike tour was our favorite day of our trip to Scotland last week. The highland tour was a great way to see some of the highlands and to get away from some of the tourist traps in the city. Johann was great and took us to some awesome spots. We will definitely do another tour if we are in the area!
