Tour was cancelled day before by tour guide, due to health issue in family, which I understand, BUT shouldn't there be other tour guides? Guide offered me another tour the following day, but I was leaving town, so he did provide a refund.

Normally I don't leave bad reviews however this one is going to be my first one. To make this clear, I did give the tour guide the benefit of doubt. Initially I booked this tour (Jul 2, 2023, 12 p.m.) then Nick sent me a text saying he had an emergency and asking if I could do the tour next day. I said yes. The next day (Jul 3,2023) he sent me a message informing me that he couldn't do the tour and asking if I could do it on the 4th of July. I misread and almost went to the meeting point then I said no because I wouldn't be available. I asked if I could do the tour on 8/7/23 at 10 a.m. He replied saying that he was really sorry, he would refund me and hoped that I had enjoyed Edinburgh. I got the impression that he didn't read my message properly. But I understood that he had emergency and needed to take care of it. So, I booked another tour on Viator (Jul 8, 2023, 10 a.m.) and left him a message saying that I booked another tour. On 7/7/23, which was yesterday, he saw my message and I asked if there was just me for the tour and he said that there was just me. So, I asked if I could do the tour at 9 a.m. He said yes. This morning (Jul, 8) he cancelled the tour at 8:15 and issued a full refund without letting me know. So, I went to the meeting point after paying for a uber to take me there. I texted him on WhatsApp after I saw the confirmation email of the cancellation of today's tour. I tried to call him both on the phone and WhatsApp but no reply. I waited patiently for 30 mins just in case he showed up. But he didn't and I still haven't heard from him since then. There is no explanation and I would have appreciated if he could had let me know what happened. At least, he could have sent me a text before he cancelled today's tour. So, I think he deserves a bad review. At the end, I wasted my time and money. This afternoon I contacted Viator who has refunded me for the tour (Jul 2, 2023 , 12 p.m.) and I appreciated their customer care.

Nick took us along the beautiful waterway path in Leith, with lots of interesting history on its Fringe festival in August. We ended the tour in the enchanting, storybook Dean's Villiage just as the sun was peaking out of the clouds. We would recommend Nick and this tour to anyone!

Nick was a great tour guide - personable, professional and very knowledgeable. The tour was relaxed, easygoing and a fantastic opportunity to see “the locals’” Edinburgh. Nick went above and beyond to make restaurant & pub recommendations too, as well as show other sites at the end of the tour. Thanks again Nick!
