The next round of the 100% made up and totally fictitious "World Cup of Team Building" sees the clash of some of favorites with USA coming up against Australia, and the clash of Southern Europe with Spain versus Portugal.

USA v Australia

This is a battle of 2 of the biggest Countries on our list in terms of land mass, and 2 teams without a huge history in football – but how they make up for that with passion for the beautiful game! The US first held the World Cup in 1994 and is due to share with Mexico and Canada in 2026, but the World Cup of football has never been held in Australia.

The US has some of the greatest cities on the planet offering a wide range of team building in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, and Boston from amazing scavenger hunts, food tours, shooting ranges, and watersports. The US is also blessed with fantastic outdoor spaces providing a range of nature and wellbeing activities to boost employee physical and mental health.

Australia also boasts fantastic cities offering a range of different cultures; Sydney if often seen as the capital of Australia and one of the main hubs for transport and culture, but perhaps Melbourne is seen as the “cooler” city? “Neighbours” versus “Home and Away”, Victoria versus New South Wales, but both offer top team building opportunities and world class accommodation. Australia leads the World in wine tasting tours, brewery tours, and outdoor activities with amazing nature.
Result of USA v Australia

A tough one to call, but USA wins this on penalties, due purely on the wider range of top cities to choose from.

Spain v Portugal

The clash of the Iberian Peninsula sees the mighty Spain come up against the powerful Portugal, Lisbon versus Madrid, Porto versus Barcelona, the Atlantic versus the Mediterranean! There is so much history in this fixture, not only in sport but in culture.

Spain hosted the World Cup in 1982 (the first one I remember), and won in South Africa in 2010 whereas Portugal have never been lucky enough to host a World Cup, and have only got as far as the Semi Final twice (1966 and 2006)

Both European states boost great beaches, cities, food and wine, top culture, tourism attractions, amazing accommodation, world class business facilities, and transportation, as well as benefitting from a great climate.
Result of Spain versus Portugal?

Portugal cause a shock with an injury winner knocking Spain out of the tournament, deciding factor was the rise in the “coolness” of Lisbon and Pasteis de nata!

That sees the results of two great Semi Finals, with the USA facing Portugal in the Team Building World Cup final.
