Piazza Civica
The square of the aristocracy of the past. This square was built around the 13th century and was the meeting place of the bourgeoisie of the meeting. It is a beautiful square from which the tour begins. From the Palazzo de Ferrera, in 1541, Charles V, emperor of Spain, stayed.
Quartiere Ebraico
The old quarter of the Jewish community of Alghero. The Jews of Alghero were Catalan Jews, coming from Catalonia since the 14th century. At the time, there were only two communities in all of Sardinia: one in Cagliari and one in Alghero. The Jewish community of Alghero ceased to live here in 1492, the year of the Decredo de l'Alhambra (anti-Jewish edict)
Cattedrale di Santa Maria
The city's cathedral, dating from the 16th century. The first buildings date back to around 1560-70. This church was built for about 3 centuries due to economic problems. The result is a cathedral filled with different styles, from Gothic through Renaissance, Rococo, to Neoclassical.
Affacci a mare: Bastioni e Lungomare
The most beautiful promenade in the city by the sea. The walls were built from about 1200, under the Genoese domination, to then be enlarged and amplified during the Spanish period towards the 16th century
Torre di Porta Terra
Spanish-era tower built around the 14th century. It is also nicknamed the Tower of the Jews, as the Jewish community financed the construction of the same
Cantina Santa Maria La Palma
The cellar where we will visit and taste the wines. This cooperative winery was founded in 1959 by various winegrowers from the Alghero countryside. Today the company boasts several wines known as the white Aragosta or the Akenta spumante
