I recommend this class for both beginners and intermediate home cooks! My husband and I greatly enjoy cooking and have made homemade pasta before and we learned a lot from Chef Vary. We particularly enjoyed learning to use the gnocchi board and the chitarra, and how to make ravioli. I also appreciate how hands-on the class was as a concern was it turning out to have minimal interaction or it being mostly demonstration. However, we each mixed and kneaded a dough (one of three varieties: semolina, egg pasta with spinach, egg pasta with charcoal), rolled it, and made each shape (cavatelli, linguine, ravioli). We all participated at the same time in chopping sauce and filling ingredients. Chef Vary cooked most of the sauces but had participants help mix and blend - during this time we were prepping items and rolling/cutting/filling the pasta dough. Chef Vary is very blunt and while we enjoyed her frank attitude, there was a person in the class who seemed to find offence. Maybe don't attend if you are very sensitive? The pasta we made was also mostly vegan to accommodate some students - so don't be concerned with food restrictions and preferences as Chef Vary will work with the class to develop a menu that suits everyone.

One of the best nights in Florence .not only was our chef Roberto the sweetest but the friends we made at dinner were wonderful and the quality time spent with my girls was precious ❤️

My wife and I travelled to Florence and she decided to book this class…and let me say, we had an amazing time! The lead chef, Roberto, was very kind and walked us through the whole process. There was even a couple that he did not know was showing up (due to booking issues) and he found a spot for them like it was no problem! The kitchen is very large and everyone is very involved. And the pasta? Amazing of course and goes swimmingly with the red wine that’s also included. Great for families, young adults, and older folks. We had a great time and highly suggest that you go see for yourself!

This was a fun class. Chef Vary is very well traveled and very knowledgeable about all types of food. We were able to make 3 different pastas and 3 different sauces. We learned so much about true Italian cooking and foods. I highly recommend this class.

We had an amazing time with Chef Vary. There were four of us, and she totally altered the class and the recipes to fit our specific tastes! She was very informational and very fun! She made it all seem so easy and doable! I would totally recommend doing this tour because it feels much more authentic than a lot of the other cooking classes you'll find in Florence! The food was so delicious and we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal over a delicious glass of wine!

Just the most wonderful few hours in Chef Vary's kitchen. Learnt so much, all things to take home and try. Very hands on experience I would highly recommend. Delicious wine and wonderful to sit down and share what we had made. Such an enjoyable experience. Thank you so much

Not only did Chef Vary help us make two delicious pastas and sauces, she has a great sense of humor & shared a lot about life in Florence and what it was like for them during the pandemic. I just wish white wine with dinner had been an option rather than red only!

We were a group of 6 and enjoyed this tremendously. The experience was all we hoped for and more. At the end of the class we enjoyed what we made with wine and great conversation with a mother and daughter shared our class. One if the beat experiences we had on our trip! If you are considering this class, just book it!

Enjoyed this experience and will return again, I have taken several cooking classes in Florence area. This was by far the BEST. We made two pastas from scratch , we made the pasta, not we watched a cooking demo. Chef Vary was fun, professional, with safety and great tips on how to make our prepare different items. Other pluses are (1) a morning class so you have the rest of the day to enjoy areas in Florence too. (2jIt is walkable from most areas as the kitchen is located just beyond Pitti Paace (3) very attentive to food allergies but doesn’t take away from the others folks food experience when preparing menu,( very adaptable, one us us has garlic allergy but the rest of us love garlic, no problem). I hope you will give it a try, I know covid was hard on most folks and giving back while enjoying a meal you made is like double happiness.
