Lee, our host, was charming and engaging with lots of local knowledge about the food, wine, people and history of Sorrento and Campania. We stopped at four different establishments for a series of great food and drink. We had antipasti/charcuterie, then pastas, then fantastic steak, dolce and then a night cap. These were places where Sorrento residents go - neighborhood places, not restaurants that focus on tourists. Through luck, we ended up being the only couple on the tour with Lee. So by the end of the night, it felt like a night out dining and chatting with an old friend, not a tour guide. Great night all around. Good idea to do early in your visit to Sorrento to get introduced to the town, people and food.

Bella Sorrento Sera tour with the GOURMET GIRLS. Highly, highly recommend this walking tour to Italian restaurants in a local neighborhood. The start of our tour was within a 10 minute walk from the main square. Our host, VANESSA, provided a history of the food in Sorrento. She was engaging and entertaining. Vanessa made us all feel so welcome to the neighborhood as did the proprietors of each restaurant. She takes you places you would never find without a local. We started our tour at 82 WINEBAR for wine tasting and small plates. This is a darling, small setting with lines down the street by the time we left. Our second stop was a family run eatery, MASTER HOSTS PIZZA AND PASTA, where the entire family works with pride. Their young children help serve. They were polite and so cute.Our main courses were served along with their local house wine which was delicious. The final stop was 4 EMME COFFEE & COCKTAIL. This delightful small establishment offered amazing martinis and amaretto coffee. Our small group of six was all girl friends from Ohio who have been friends for over 50 years. It was one of the highlights of our 10 day trip through Rome, Sorrento, Florence and the Amalfi Coast. The original tour was to be four restaurants but one was unexpectedly closed. It did not impact our evening as the second restaurant provided not only the main courses but the most delicious dessert.....thin pizza crust filled with Nutella and dusted with powdered sugar. Amazing!! We did not feel like we missed anything by not going to one of the restaurants. These tours are designed for small groups as the restaurants are small and quaint. Please consider this tour if you find yourselves in Sorrento. Ours was from 6-9 and was full of delicious food and good fun. Tell them the six crazy ladies from Ohio sent you!

This progressive, Sorrento local favorites, dinner experience truly surpassed our every expectation. From the very first tantalizing bite of the bruschetta, which was a perfect symphony of flavors, to the delectably rich Spaghetti adorned with tomato, capers, and olives, and so much more in between - and all paired with the perfect wine, each dish was a revelation. The steak was masterfully cooked, achieving that elusive balance of tenderness and flavor. A meatball with a truffle sauce left David closing his eyes and savoring every bite. Ending to tour with a refreshingly zesty lemon sorbet followed by a sophisticated coffee martini, sealing the meal with a touch of elegance. The communication and post dinner pictures were much appreciated!

What a special evening in Sorrento! From the start Vanessa provide amazing customer service. I was traveling with quite a large group and really wanted to do their tour, I reached out to beg for consideration and luckily she was able to accommodate our group. Thanks Vanessa! Finally the day came and words cannot express the amount of fun, laughter and delicious food and wine had throughout the night! Lee explained the history, wine and food with great expertise! We ended the night very fat, buzzed and happy. Ladies - thank you so much for preparing such a wonderful evening!! Salute!

On a solo trip to Sorrento I was absolutely delighted thanks to Vanessa and Lee to be able to take part in a progressive dinner.lovely to be taken to quiet bistros to sample true Italian Fayre.First tasty starters.Then to move in to one of their own personal favourite bistro for a pasta course.Then on to a delicious main course of the most tender beef with the most delicious potatoes.To top the evening on to a cocktail bar for a delicious cocktail.It was an evening to remember always.thanks so much Vanessa and Lee.

The Gourmet Girls experience, led by the charming and engaging Vanessa and Lee, has been the highlight of our visit to Sorrento. They lead you on a walking tour to four different restaurants in their own residential neighborhood - only a few blocks away from the chaotic and bustling city center - and introduce you to a bounty of local foods they (and you) will love. Oh, so much food! Appetizers at one restaurant, pasta at another, steak and meatballs with truffles at a third, and delicious after-dinner cocktails at the last! They two ladies feel like your longtime friends by the end of this informative and delightful evening. We so enjoyed the experience we returned to the first stop on the tour the following evening -- a small, family run wine and tapas bistro we never would have found without the Gourmet Girls!

I would highly recommend this tour! It takes you off the beaten “tourist” path and into the culinary world of the locals. We went to three different restaurants and had a different course at each one. They were all delicious and Vanessa is a warm and engaging host. From the beginning to the end, we served wonderful local food with the local wine to go along with it. If you like to get away from the busy, sometimes over rated food establishments this is the tour for you!

This was amazing! We had so much fun with Vanessa our host, as well as the others we met along the way. The food was incredible. We definitely want to go back to the restaurants while in Sorrento. This is a fantastic way to get to know where the great food is.
