Join our full day wine tour in the glorious Prosecco Region, one of the most famous and appreciated Italian wine areas for its unspoiled nature, its historic villas and excellent sparkling wines… This is a full-day outdoor experience to the “Colli Berici” Region: just 45 minutes driving from Verona city center, The Colli Berici are has almost mythical origin. We will start our day by visiting an authentic award-winning winery, famous for its Prosecco extra dry and pas dosé, all organic. We will immerse ourselves in the nature of this original 16th century estate, walking among the vineyards and the small riding school that surrounds it. Their Prosecco is, above all, one of the few in Italy processed in purity, 100% prosecco. During our tasting, a lunch will be served under the historic “barchessa” overlooking the vineyards. In the afternoon we will immerse ourselves in a small village where we will visit the second family-run winery. Panoramic stops along the way.

The general public is certainly unaware that around 1750 the vine already identified with the name of Prosecco was well known in Veneto, but not in the area that is now considered the most suitable and historical, Valdobbiadene and the province of Treviso, but in Monteberico, on the Colli Berici, a few km from the city of Vicenza and less the one hour from Verona center.

In the afternoon we will immerse ourselves in a small village where we will visit the second family-run winery, where values ​​such as genuineness and passion for the land are expressed in their excellent wines. We'll learn and try the difference between Prosecco method and Classic method (the Champenoise method). The key factor lies in the use of a secondary fermentation process. Instead of moving the wine into the ageing step of the process, somebody using the classic method place their blended wine in bottles with a touch of yeast and some extra sugar. The bottle is sealed with a temporary plug & stored horizontally in a wine cellar. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation. Only this time, the temporary plug prevents the carbon dioxide the process creates from being released. Those gases stay in the wine, resulting in the creation of the bubbles that Champagne is so famous for. All this facts and much more will be explained and comment and experience during our wine trip.

We did a Prosecco wine tour with Virginia at the end of August 2021, and we really enjoyed our time with her. She picked us up at our hotel at 9:30am, she was on time and prompt, and then we were off to our first winery. Both of the wineries we went to, Fattori and La Pria, were great. We really enjoyed the tours with the owners and the insights provided by Virginia. The Proseccos and wines were delicious, and the food provided by the wineries was great too. We were able to go up the mountain to the owner’s house of one of the wineries for a great view. The 2nd winery had a barn with some animals that we got to see and pet. Seeing that I grew up on a farm, this was very exciting for me. We decided to order some wines from the 2 wineries and Virginia made the shipping process back to the states completely stress free. I highly recommend this company for your wine tour in Verona and hopefully will be back again soon for another tour. Thank you again Virginia!

Our Food and Wine Walking Tour with Sara was fabulous! She was warm, personable, knowledgeable, and fun. She led us on a food-tasting experience at some of her favorite local stores, shops, and the oldest family-run restaurant in Verona. We had fabulous Veronese pastries, cheese, sopressa, bigoli pasta, and wines...such great wines! She also took us to see lots of historical and interesting sites, and often had an important or humorous anecdote to pass on. She's the kind of person who makes you feel like a friend, not a client. We highly recommend this food and wine walking tour!

Michela la nostra guida è stata bravissima e il tour è stato bellissimo. Lei e i posti in cui abbiamo degustato i vini Veronesi ci hanno fatto scoprire con gioia un mondo sconosciuto.
