Positano A confusion of houses, arches, domes, arcades, bougainvillea, falls from the slopes of the Monti Municipality and S Angelo a Tre Pizzi, defies gravity, climbs, almost a cliff, on the pebble beach, on the boats. White houses, like in Greece. A bit of that Byzantine tradition, not Arab as most believe, that unites the South to the Aegean islands. Go down the country a single lane, then only stairs, steep, secret: in Positano you don't walk, you climb, or you go down ... Leaving Positano at a time agreed with your driver in order to avoid traffic and critical times, you will be taken back to the port of destination in time for your embarkation without any risk.

Pompeii Archaeological Park

Pompeii Ancient city at the foot of Vesuvius very flourishing in the Roman period. Its destruction occurred in 79 AD. following the famous eruption of the volcano that covered it with lapilli and ashes. The first archaeological explorations took place towards the middle of the 18th century, the excavations took a great impulse, but only from 1860 did they become systematic and rational. It can be calculated that up to now about three fifths of the ancient urban area have been brought to light. One of the most famous archaeological centers in the world, which offers a precious and complete picture of the topography and life in a Roman city. Currently Pompeii is an archaeological site protected by UNESCO, the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture, attracting about 3,000,000 visitors a year.

We had Enrico for our tour today. He was the most amazing driver. He had lots of knowledge, safe driver, perfect english and gave us so many great recommendations for food and places to see during our stay as well. I would highly recommend him to show you around the sights of the Amalfi Coast. Also Lina was an amazing guide for our Pompeii tour. She was very thorough, excellent knowledge of the areas we went in Pompeii. I enjoyed it so much, I’ll definitely will be coming back to see more of Pompeii hopefully with Lina again! As a result of a Google search, I found the company “Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours” for an October trip to Italy. This company is owned by the brother and sister team of Melania and Giovanni; and a tour of the stunning Amalfi Coast, spectacular Sorrento and historical Pompeii was booked. Upon her suggestion, an additional tour with private guide Lina of Pompeii was also booked. I highly recommend the private tour as there is a wealth of information that can be missed without one. Giovanni met us at the train station, and thus became the most informative and fantastic tour. Tenuta Di Leva in the enchanting lemon grove was truly a gastrological delight. Don’t think twice about booking with “Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours”, you will not be disappointed. By the end of the tour, Giovanni had become family, and the next Italy trip will include tours with this company. Arrivederci Italia!

Our day with Enrico was fantastic! He was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and made this trip special! The experience was positive from the start in that I was able to email the office, state exactly what I was looking for, and received prompt replies confirming my requests. When our tour guide Enrico picked us up, he was completely aware of the expected itinerary and ensured that expectations were met. He gently suggested lunch at a local lemon farm, and it was a wonderful experience! We had the place to ourselves where we dined on farm to table food with the friendliest of hosts. From the moment Gigi greeted us with a friendly smile at the train station, we knew we were in for something special. With Gigi's expert knowledge and suggestions, we were able to see the most breathtaking views and have unforgettable experiences. Our day began with a stop in Ravello, where we explored Villa Rufolo and the charming square, all thanks to Gigi's recommendation. The sights were truly spectacular, and we couldn't have asked for a better start to our adventure. This private tour was spectacular. Our private driver, Giovanni (Gio), picked us up at our hotel. We had a great commentary by Gio on the way to Herculaneum. There, we were met by our private guide, Effi. Then, on to Pompeii for the tour with Effi. We really enjoyed Effi's tours. She answered any questions we had, and the tours were great. Then, Gio drove us to a wine tasting and lunch close to Mt. Vesuvius. The wines were terrific, and the lunch was very enjoyable. Then, Gio drove us back to our hotel after a full day. Gio was so much fun! He really made the entire trip enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in the Naples, Italy area.

My wife and I went on a private tour of the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii with Giovanni this past week. We can't stop talking about it! It was our last day in Italy, and it really was an excellent end to our trip. We started the day driving the Amalfi Coast up to Positano, where we got out and spent some time exploring the town. Giovanni was incredibly knowledgeable and organized, so we had a clear meeting point and seamless transition to the rest of our planned activities. We hadn't really factored in lunch to our trip, and Giovanni proposed a lunch stop at a Lemon farm near Sorrento. This unexpected stop proved excellent. Great food, great views, and we were the only ones there! We were celebrating our honeymoon, and as a result, they even had a nice glass of champagne waiting for us at lunch. To me, this speaks to the attention to detail and service this company offers. Throughout the day, Giovanni gave a lot of insights into the history and culture of the region. He was a pleasure to talk to, and really made the day special. We wrapped the day up at Pompeii before heading back to Napoli. They organized a wonderful private tour with Lina, who really made it easy for us to visualize Pompeii in its' prime. Consistent with the rest of our experience, she was knowledgeable, organized, and a whole lot of fun. We can't wait for our next trip, and really want to thank the whole team at Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours, but we especially want to thank Giovanni. He made the last day of our honeymoon very memorable. We were a family of seven ages 8 through 78 on a cruise and were docked in Naples on Aug 4 2023. We spent a truly magical day with Enrico as our guide and driver visiting Positano and Sorrento. Enrico was most charming and relatable to all age groups in that he struck the right balance between stories, history and fun. He very helpful and understanding to the 78 year old making the day of touring easier. For the 2 teens and the 8 year old he was fun and informative. Not an easy mix of people to keep engaged but it was seemless to Enrico. He arranged the most special lunch in a memorable setting that was the highlight of our trip. We took many private tours throughout our trip in every port and we whole heartedly believe Enrico was the very best guide. We all speak of Enrico until today with admiration and the fondest of memories. We could not recommend him more to anyone touring Amalfi. Arrivederci Enrico!
