Visit this historic palace, which became the main home of the ruling families of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. It was the centre of government for the 300 years that Tuscany was a monarchy. Later the palace was used as a base by Napoleon. During the Risorgimento, for a short time it was the royal palace of the newly united Italy.

Visit Palatine Gallery, is a museum housed in Palazzo Pitti in Florence. This is the "picture gallery" of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany: the layout in fact respects the taste of past centuries, with the paintings placed in several rows, selected for decorative criteria, and not by period and schools. Chronologically, with a few exceptions, the paintings mainly cover the 16th and 17th centuries, making it one of the most important museums of its kind in Italy, as well as an obligatory stop for learning about the history of European collecting.

Walk through Basilica of San Lorenzo, one of the main Catholic places of worship in Florence, located in the square of the same name in the historic center of the city.
