Excellent tour, our well spoken guide Olesa took our family on a tour that she made all the history fun to learn and kept our children of 7 and 9 entertained throughout. Highly recommended!

We had originally booked skip the line tickets but upgraded to get a tour guide and so glad we did ! Our guide was Lumi and she was fantastic. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and down to earth personality made the experience for us. The whole experience was professional, from the email the day before reminding us where to meet, to the host who was there to meet us. They all wore purple uniforms so were easy to identify. The office where we went to upgrade was well situated by the Metro station. But it was Lumi who stole the show. She brought the colosseum to life for us and her wit and humour was brilliant. Unfortunately we booked the Vatican with a different tour guide the next day and had a totally different experience. I’ll definitely book all tours through Crown Tours in future.

Selena was amazing, she truly brought wberything to life with her descriptions of the history. We learned a lot and were thoroughly interested. Would come back again when colossium stage is finished.

We had Alba as our tour guide, she was fantastic. It was a really hot day but she made sure we got plenty of shade and water stops, Alba was so informative and gave us some really interesting extra info whilst we were going round which made it really engaging and interesting throughout. I would highly recommend having a guide for this attraction because there is so much info about the history that you would not know otherwise. Thankyou very much Lucy and Harry

The tour started over 20 minutes late. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the tour start as per the guidance. This meant we waited in the heat for an hour before we even began. The tour also ended early so we did not get the experience we paid for. The guide did not pay attention to the group, left several people stuck at the security entrance of the palatine hill and seemed unhappy to be there. There were older people and kids in our group and she did not change her pace or alert to the difficult terrain or check that people were ok. We did the free Rick Steves audio tour of the area and found it to be much more informative. We do not recommend this your.

English speaking tour guide barely spoke English. Radio system worked as long as you were within 5 feet of the tour guide. Otherwise it was just static.

Great tour. Our tour guide was the best…Although the weather was cold it did hail whilst we were stood on the arena, eerie!! Great visit.

The tour guide added no history, no stories… simply directed us to the next sign and read bits of it aloud to us. Later in the tour, our senior citizen parents took the elevator down to the ground floor, where the were not allowed to rejoin the group; our tour guide was not concerned about our missing parents at all but kept repeating, “the problem is the two radios that they have.” Her only worry was the tour group’s little radios and not the fact that Colosseum security were holding our parents because they got lost coming off the elevator and found themselves in a restricted area. As soon as we were reunited with our parents and the radios, we decided to exit (after returning the precious radios), leaving the tour 90 minutes early.
