Florence is amazingly beautiful, but that's universally accepted. It's also a very small place, densely packed with landmark buildings, vistas and "don't miss"-es. In such places the role of the guide is all that more important - because going from here to there anyone can do, even of its own. From this perspective, Manuel was next to perfection. He could have done a little magic to make the place less crowded - and in fact he did, showing us a couple hidden gems of Florence - but apart from that, I'm struggling to find something to badmouth him... and I fail. Contrary to his excuses, his English is very good, his Italian accent adorable, just like his sense of humor and, most importantly of them all, his claim that he is a storyteller is right. As a native Florentine, he is a treasure of short stories and anecdotes about Florence's 800 years of historical eminence. And it makes you wish to learn more and look for more by yourself. Thank you, Manuel!

I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this tour, but it was one of the best walking tours I have booked. Our guide Samona was funny and super informative. There is so much history and context in Florence that can be difficult to distill into a short tour, but I found Samona’s version to be educational, engaging, and very enjoyable. She managed the group well through the crazy crowds of a holiday weekend. This tour was a great find. I will add, that though the up front price is basically nothing, I would encourage anyone doing this tour to be generous with their payment. These tour guides work extremely hard during the tour and had to spend many years preparing and training for it - consider all of that when offering payment at the end :).

We had an interesting, informative and entertaining tour with Manuel. He brought the past to life. The tour was a little of the beaten track at times which was refreshing.

Fantastic tour. Less sightseeing- more a tale of the Renaissance and the Medicis with sights thrown in. Manuel is a funny and entertaining guide who held our attention with his tales of the Renaissance Great insights into life in those times and trips down back alleys to the 13th century even. Have us a different perspective on this incredible city A must do!
