It was my first time visiting Italy and I wanted to create memories with my girlfriends! What better way to celebrate the birth place of pasta than to learn how to make pasta from a native? Bea was so kind and patient, and knowledgeable; she encompasses all of the great qualities of a superb teacher. she was extremely responsive with questions that I had about booking the class, and it was such a relief to hear from her when we were running late. Learning the public transit system in a foreign country is challenging, but needing to be somewhere at a certain time can really be flustering. She welcomed us with open arms into her home with wine and appetizers. We really felt at home right away. She taught us her grandmother’s recipes and shared stories of how she learned these growing up every Sunday. The best part of it all was that our fresh pasta, gnocchi, and tiramisu were all delicious. I absolutely enjoyed my time and would highly recommend taking this cooking class. She also recommended a restaurant for us to try in Venice, and it was our favorite meal of the entire trip. She is a wonderful human, and her cooking class will not disappoint. Book her now!
Bea was amazing!! She was so kind and very knowledgeable about Italy as a whole and offered great advice. I would 100% recommend this experience for anyone when coming to Milan!
We were greeted by our chef Rafael at the gate, and he took us up to his apartment. The table was set with wine glasses and a few small bowls of different snacks. We sat down and talked a little while with Rafael, and he gave us an introduction to his career as a chef and what we were going to cook that evening. We started making the tiramisu and as we went along he told us some of the theory behind the food, and the vast difference between homemade and the tiramisu you get at restaurants. Next it was time for the tagliatelle. It was my first time making a pasta dough, but Rafael was a superb teacher and he guided us through the whole process, and we where left with an excellent result. As a self renowned tomato sauce connoisseur, it was really refreshing to see how Rafael made his simple yet tasteful sauce. He also recommended us his favourite bottled sauces, and the best brand of dried pasta. Finally the three of us sat down and ate. I gave this experience as a birthday gift to my girlfriend, so I really hoped that it would be a learning experience for the both of us to take home in our own kitchen, but it turned out as much more than that. We talked continuously with Rafael the whole night, and we had such a good time, sharing laughs and personal anecdotes. (His english was perfect) Rafael is such a nice person and he made us feel very welcome. It was just like going to a friends house for dinner. My girlfriend and I both left high spirited, because we really had a wonderful night, which turned out even better than expected! Thank you very much Rafael:)
Muy buena experiencia, algo distinto, divertido y didáctico. Rafael es un gran cocinero que nos ha enseñado bastante y la cena súper agradable, muy recomendable.
Rafael was amazing and the cooking class and so fun and informative. Overall, a great experience that we would recommend to anyone coming to Milan!
This was such a fun class!! Bea was an amazing host and she went above and beyond. We got to use her family’s recipe to make tiramisu, zucchini pasta and tomato basil pasta, which were all delicious!! On top of that, we got to try different special Italian drinks and cheeses. The atmosphere was nice as we listened to 80s Italian music while we cooked. She also gave us lots of suggestions for what to do in Milan, which was super helpful to us as new tourists to the area. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a class or just someone knowledgeable about Italy!
