This was my 2nd visit to Rome, had done all the normal sites so wanted to get out of town and experience something new and fun. This was a fabulous experience. Let me start off by saying, I'm not a big Italian food lover, but that's not why I did the class, wanted the experience of making fun dishes and meeting new people. Our chef, Eugene, was great and very patient with us non-chefs, thanks for making the class a delight. The town where we went for the class, Mazzano Romano, was exactly what I wanted in a small Italian village, loved every moment of our time there. If you're looking for a fun, laid back, new experience in Rome, pick this adventure, you won't be disappointed.

The tour started with pickup in the center of Rome driving north and around 40 minute trip to a small town called Mazzano Romano. Eugene and Tamara were the chefs, patient and friendly, and took us to small food market including a butcher to gather ingredients to make gnocchi, ravioli and cavatappi pasta. The five hour cooking class including making fresh pasta including ravioli with ricotta and artichokes, cacio pepe gnocchi and cavatappi with red pepper and pomodori sausage sauce, baked potato and thin slices of veal and prosciutto. Dessert was homemade tiramisu. The tour also include bottle of white wine. In my opinion, the tour was not worth $456 USD. You can find a cheaper cooking class in the center of Rome for half the price. The cost of ingredients may have cost around 60 Euros. Perhaps the price was high due to cost of gas making the trip to and from Mazzano Romano.

Went on this excursion in December with a friend. It was by far the most fun we had. There is a maximum of 8 people, but it ended up being just my friend and I. We were driven to a small town outside of Rome where Roy took us shopping at a few local shops to pickup ingredients for what we were going to make. Then we went to an apartment in a castle to start preparing our meal. We made several dishes some of which were ravioli and tiramisu. I can’t speak more highly of Roy and Tamara. They were both patient and just wonderful instructors. I would suggest this to anyone who wishes to do something unique.

We are still marveling in the perfection of this experience with Chef Roy. We loved every second of this beautifully curated day. The charm of the town of Mazzano Romano simply elevates the uniqueness. Chef Roy’s instruction was superb. History and technique were paired perfectly with wine and taste and the day will be permanently etched in our minds, stomachs and hearts. Much applause to this tour!

Roy and his assistant Tamara, were absolutely fabulous! His directions and guidance Was delivered in a kind and entertaining way. The food we made was actually better than what we experienced at some of the local restaurants in Roma. We have already ordered accessories to continue our experiences making pasta when we return home. This was a highlight of our trip, next time we are in Roma, we will book with Roy again! Thank you thank you thank you my friend.

Roy picked us up in Rome perfectly as planned and we enjoyed the drive with him to the class. It was a cute little medieval town and a beautiful home where we held the class. As we arrived we met Tamara, Roy’s kitchen assistant how did a wonderful job helping with instruction, preparation and cleanup. We were the only participants that day but the show went on as expected. They showed us how to prepare several simple plates that we can easily repeat at home. It was s beautiful relaxing day.

Roy and Tamara were so fun. We had a lovely day going to the markets and butcher together. We then went to a lovely small village to do several dishes. The saltimbocca was out of this world. We picked fresh herbs and had a lovely glass of 3 of wine. Do yourself a favor and book this. Highlight of trip ❤️

This was an amazing experience! The small group experience of learning to cook several new dishes in a beautiful 16th century home was fantastic. We enjoyed every moment - from acquiring ingredients at the local markets to making our new dishes and finally enjoying the delicious meal. Roy and Tamara were educational, funny, and very helpful! Hands down one of our favorite experiences in Rome.

We took this tour 4 years ago and had so much fun that we decided to do it again. Roy and Tamara were so fun and really helped us learn so much about cooking Italian cuisine. After we prepared the food, we ate our delicious meal. We will definitely do this again on our next trip to Rome.
