We were looking for a way to see Messina during our stay in port, and this ticked all the boxes. In a small group with a knowledgeable guide, we were able to see many points of cultural or historical significance and learn a lot about the city. As a walking tour, it is a very healthy way to see the city, but it was a relaxed walk that would not tax most tourists. Finishing at a local eatery for some snacks (included in the price) was a lovely way to round out the experience.

Guide was very interesting but she spoke too quickly and her accent was very strong. Over half the group left in the first half hour In addition the head sets picked up a lot of background noise so it was not easy to follow.

In fairness, there are only a few things to see in Messina, but our tour guide Gabriella mostly stated the obvious about them -this is a church, this is the theater, and so on. Except to describe what buildings were rebuilt, we got only the rudiments of Messina's history, nothing about the economy, life in the city, or much of anything. Before the tour, we were pleased with the relatively reasonable cost of $39pp, but afterwards, we thought the tour was very poor value. Still, Gabrielle was a sweet, thoughtful and enthusiastic guide.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable but from the start this tour was a mess. The booking said it was limited to 15 people and we had 25. The booking said this was an English tour but he translated everything into French for a couple in the group (kind buy it mad everything take twice as long and have non French speakers a lot of downtime). Tour lasted over 3 hours.

We had a lovely walking tour with clock tower "show" at noon being the highlight. The Taste of Sicily treat at end of the tour was greatly appreciated.

On October 19 I had the pleasure of experiencing one of your shore excursions: Walking Tour of Messina. Claudio was the tour guide. Claudio was FABULOUS. Articulate, interesting, warm, friendly. He did a great job "narrating" what we were seeing in a way that gave us plenty of information, but also a context for viewing. He often shared his own personal insights and I felt he found ways to connect things we had seen to those we were "seeing next." He was very mindful of the abilities of his tour group...he moved at a pace that was pleasant for all, was able to offer shady spots and the occasional "need to sit for just a bit" breaks. The timing was impeccable and as a result we got to see the great clock chime 12 noon. Would I use your tour service again...you bet. SOOOO much better then most of what my cruise ship was offering. Kudos to you and super kudos to Claudio!!!!!

Our guide had a thick Italian accent and did not always speak into the mic. In addition, the wireless earphones did not fit well and were very static-prone. Many on the tour, including myself, simply took out the earphones and tried to hear without them. This also was difficult due to the guide's movements and accent. Some of the "sights" pointed out seemed mundane, such as the window of a fish store. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a tour.

Extremely difficult to understand guide. Additionally, “transistor” was junk. I’m sure guide knew her history, but overall, a waste of two hours that could have been used elsewhere.
