Pompeii Archaeological Park

One of the most important commercial ports in Roman times situated at the mouth of the river Sarno. Buried by the devastating force of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. rediscovered by chance 16 centuries later is the most visited archaeological site in Italy. There you can visit the Forum area, the Theatres area, the Baths, and some of the best preserved houses with the original mosaic floors, frescoed walls and in some monuments you can still see some of the plaster casts of the inhabitants who were suffocated by the ashes erupted from the volcano.

Parco Acheologico di Ercolano

The residential town along the Bay Naples in 79 A.D. when the devastating fury of the volcano Vesuvius buried the whole area at the foot of it. Herculaneum was buried by a torrential lava of mud mixed to volcanic materials. Smaller than Pompeii, but not less interesting. Here in fact you can see not only the same kind of buildings of Pompeii but better preserved artistic elements (mosaics, frescoes, and original timber of the roofs).

Loved this tour! Luisa the owner, Roberto, our driver, and Lucia, our guide in Pompeii were all amazing! If you can, request Luisa as your guide as she is well-versed and well-respected! They were in contact with us and each other and we were never left waiting. We had great conversations with Roberto, who is very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. The winery is beautiful and served us a great lunch and it was fun to taste the different wines. Definitely recommend!!

Thanks Roberto and our guide through the ruins Louisa for the wonderful tour exploring and learning about Pompeii. Louisa took us to see all the special places in Pompeii and educated us well on the history. Roberto is so easy to work with and always prompt and kind. Instead of the wine tour my family chose to take his suggestion to eat at a local restaurant palazzo Vialdo outside of Napoli on our way back to Rome. It was a great choice and after we were able to relax on our way back to Rome. We’ve had the best family vacation using this company. Their employees are really wonderful. Familia! 🫶🏻❤️🇮🇹

The excavations undoubtedly represent a historical find of great value but beyond the cultural aspect they are nothing. Most of the houses still standing are closed and there are very few access areas. The multitude of people crowding into the main streets, the bumpy route and the guides who only create confusion unfortunately create a mix that is not at all positive. Not to mention the organization. The maps delivered to the ticket office are difficult to read and we don't talk about the internal directions. We needed Google to reach the places of greatest interest. I recommend a visit period not in the middle of summer, when temperatures become more bearable.
