This was the worst experience I could imagine. There were no directions on how to find the starting place. Once we found it, the tour guide was late. Then he didn't have enough headsets for each of us to hear the tour, then the audio was staticky and so bad we gave up and handed them back. He did not even know English well enough to answer questions. He just recited things that were already on the posters and printed material on the walls that we could have read ourselves. I overheard someone else's tour and it was fabulous, insightful and interesting. Ours was horrible!

The add sai 34/person we ended up paying 54/person. The agent was not very knowledgeable and confused us an mead us waste our time

This was a terrible tour all around. We could not even find the ticket booth or agency... there was no flag or sign that indicated either. Once we eventually located the guide, he began to talk about the architecture as we stood in the same spot for what seemed like forever....maybe a half an hour. Someone in our group urged him to move into the Baptistry, and he did. But, again, he spoke somewhat incoherently. One by one, each member of the tour left the guide until he had no group remaining. Everyone was polite, but, honestly, this was the worst tour leader I'd ever witnessed.

We booked through Viator and nothing said the guides would be wearing Accord vests we tried everything to contact the guide as you see to find how to find them but no response. When we contacted the office finally they found our booking and sent someone to help however after 40 minutes of running between 2 of the sites to try and find them we were given the tickets. We showed them all our communication and tickets and NOTHING said we should look for any other organisation. We have booked many tours and this was the worst. We never met the guide and took ourselves through the monuments

Very bad choice. They gave us tickets from another day, we couldn’t enter to the museum or the baptistery. Additionally The tickets were for another amount, so wasn’t what we paid for. There was no answer from the guide, he told us is a problem of the agency. Nobody can give us a solution and the agency told us “will see what can do, in 72 hours you will receive a email”. Almost two hours lost and a very bad time in what we hope be a nice tour.

Difficult to find – – instructions should mention that the meeting location is under construction. Could not understand the tour guide. “Tour” began with 45 minutes standing outside in the wind, trying to listen to the boring guide without seeing anything. We ended up leaving the tour and using our tickets to enter the Duomo museum directly. The museum is wonderful.

This was our worst experience on our trip. The guide was late, he did not have enough headsets for everyone, the headsets were staticky the whole time. He did not know how to do a guide and tell us things that were important. He rambled on and on about inconsequential things and then recited things that we could read ourselves on the plaques on the walls. I would not recommend this tour company. Everyone was so frustrated!

The visit with Natalia as our guide was extremely interesting. We first went into the Baptistry which was an absolute wonder, despite the fact that the magnificent mosaics on the ceiling are being restored so cannot be seen at the moment. The rest of the building and Natalia's stories made up for it. Then she took us to the Museum at the other end of the cathedral square. We loved the museum's brightness and the fact that all the exhibits are so well displayed and explained. They even have a few pieces duplicated so that they can be touched. Our 9-year old loved that. We especially liked the original doors from the Baptistry and the whole section devoted to the building of the Dome. We subsequently visited the Cathedral and it was impressive but the museum gave us much more of a context. So if you're in Florence, go visit the Opera Museum. It is not very well advertised, so it's easy to miss, but It provides so much more information than standing outside for hours to get into the bare Cathedral ever could.

We did a guided tour of the Duomo with Fat Tire tours. Helena was extremely knowledgeable and informative through out. The Duomo while not as large as St Peters in Rome is an amazing structure given the time when it was built. Still covered in marble and includes amazing artwork. The tour included a trip to the top of the dome both and inside view and then an outside view of Florence. Be warned though that is is over 400 steps and some of the way the stairs are narrow.

Our tour guide was really excelent, in fact it was the best guided tour we had in Florence and Rome. She knew her subject matter very well, her explanations were thorough, and her enthusiasm was infectious. She encouraged everyone to ask questions. We would be happily go on another tour with her.
