Mi sono recato a Santa Maria di Leuca, con l'entusiasmo tipico di chi vuol vivere una tipica serata estiva salentina. L'impatto è stato devastante, in pratica non esistono parcheggi per le auto, o meglio quelli che ci sono, bastano per l'1% dei visitatori. Conseguenza di ciò, le migliaia fi auto dei turisti, sono quasi tutte parcheggiate in aree coperte da divieto o in posizioni non proprio regolari. Morale della favola, a fine serata ho trovato un cortese "regalo" sul parabrezza della mia auto, per un gentile contributo al comune per un divieto di sosta. Premetto che la multa è sacrosanta, perché anche se non intralciavo in nessun modo il traffico, ero obiettivamente in divieti di sosta. Da qui la riflessione: ma tutti quei ristoranti e locali del lungomare, come pensate di riempirli con i 100 posti Parcheggio disponibili? Diceva un grande statista che il business più complesso da gestire è quello del Turismo perché occorre accompagnarlo con infrastrutture adeguate. A Santa Maria di Leuca, non c'è un trasporto ferroviario adeguato, mancano i parcheggi per i turisti che raggiungono la località in auto, non ci sono Taxi o navette per il lungomare, insomma, l'elemento naturale che attira i tutisti, non è sostenuto dalle infrastrutture necessarie. Consiglio a tutti coloro che vogliono trascorrere una serata a Santa Maria di Leuca, di andarci senza macchina e di trovare soluzioni alternativa al fine di ridurre un inutile carico di stress ed evitare una multa giusta, ma per certi versi molto ingiusta

Al termine del nostro tour privato della Puglia non potevamo non raggiungere la punta estrema del nostro paese. Con il GPS e le indicazioni stradali è stato facile raggiungere la Basilica di Santa Maria de finibus terrae. Il tutto racchiuso in un grande piazzale sovrastato dall'altissimo e imponente faro e da una colonna che sostiene una statua della Madonna. E' stato anche facile il parcheggio proprio in prossimità del piazzale. Affacciarsi e vedere il mare sottostante è stato emozionante nel pensare che non siamo molto lontani dalla Grecia, forse visibile in una giornata molto limpida. All'esterno del Santuario alcune targhe che narrano la storia del Santuario. L'interno non grande, semplice e molto ben tenuto.

Bella località turistica fronte mare. Potrebbero migliorare la qualità delle spiagge. Un po' cara. Ci sono valide offerte per escursioni in barca a 20 euro a persona. Accettabile. Merita la visita.
