Salerno is very beautiful city basically hidden behind the Amalfi coast. With Roberto’s guidance, he explained the various sections of the city and it became very manageable from a walking perspective. The old town area with the Duomo containing relics of St Matteo to the newer parts of the city. Along with the ancient parts of the city, Roberto managed to point out the best gelato and pizza shops for later visits. Excellent tour of a very beautiful city.

We spent a week in Salerno and had several tours with Roberto. This was the perfect way to start our week. We had a walking tour of Salerno that helped us to navigate the city on our own. In addition he helped with finding restaurants. He was willing for us to reach out to him for any questions we had. We recommend you start with this tour when visiting this area and then take as many of the archaeological sites with him as your schedule allows. This week was one of the best weeks we have had on vacation thanks to Roberto. Having one guide for several tours was a very positive experience as he understood our needs and interests. He is personable, knowledgeable, speaks English clearly and professionally. He really was available to us for many needs. We can not rate him more positively. We are experienced travelers, and Roberto is indeed one of the best guides we have met. He is the best!!

As Roberto’s home town, he has a wealth of insightful knowledge of Salerno. He led us through the newer sections as well as the historically significant old town. He assisted us greatly with recommendations for eating and drinking establishments and he was open to adding day-trips to surrounding areas that are off the beaten path. For example a trip to our ancestral home and a winery (Casa di Baal) outside of town.

Roberto was very informative. Took us places in Salerno otherwise wouldn’t have gone. Loved Salerno and would come back

Exploring places in the old town of Salerno and having stories related that we would not have otherwise experienced! Roberto was an excellent guide and provided a tour and background that was very interesting and gave a different sense of Salerno that we had previously experienced in our prior three days in the city.

Very informative guide and tour, showing off a more hidden side of Salerno, its very small and narrow lanes, colorful wall inscriptions and paintings, in addition to the cathedral etc.

Giada was a very knowledgeable tour guide (she's from Salerno!) and led us on an absolutely lovely tour of the city's historic center. We learned a lot about the city's evolution from it's early days to where it is now. We ended at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, where there's a stunning Baroque-decorated crypt dedicated to the Gospel writer where relics of his are kept. We ended our tour there right at dusk, arriving just at the moment the church lights lit up -- it was magical! Highly recommend if you're staying in Salerno to get oriented, or even just passing through.
