Lake Como

Departure from Como, in via Lungo Lario Trieste n28 " you will find a small pier. We will see the new Electric Life, the Voltiano Lighthouse, Voltiano Temple. The war memorial of the First World War. Villa la Rotonda, Villa Olmo. We will then arrive in Cernobbio, Villa Erba, Villa D'Este, Villa Pizzo. Then we meet the Borgo of Moltrasio with Villa Fontanelle (ex Versace) and then we will arrive at the Borgo of Laglio. We continue arriving in Torno, Villa Pliniana, Hotel Il Sereno and Villa Taverna. We reach Blevio with Villa Rocca Bruna (Hotel Mandarin Oriental), Villa Schouvaloff, Villa Usuelli, Cademartori and Villa Troubetzkoi. Thus returning to Como observing Villa Mirabella and finally Villa Geno and its Fountain thus arriving at the departure pier.

Orrido Di Nesso

After we pass to the opposite bank stopping at the Ravine of Nesso to admire the waterfall and have a nice swim

Laglio: famous for George Clooney with Villa Oleandra, the curious Piramide, Ernesto Riva shipyard.

Isola Comacina

The only island on lake Como, was the protagonist of the local history in roman and medieval times. The magnitude of the island in history is such to make us believe that it was the mythical place from which would rise the wall of “mastri comacini” (ars muraria), and also the point from which would start the whole process of development of italian medieval art....island of historical importance...

Captain Giovanni made our tour memorable with his personable stories & exceptional boating skills, positioning the boat perfectly to allow the best photo shot views of the Villas with us included! A particular highlight was the 180 degree water view of the Villa Balbianello & the gardens & Richard Branson’s Villa!

My previous bad review was deleted. Be advised this tour is uncomfortable, cramped, on a very small boat with limited views of the Southern end of the lake. The snacks are nothing special and the entire experience was unprofessional. If the lake is rough you'll be bounced around and wet. You can rent your own boat or spend a bit more for a more professional guide and tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-hour boat tour on Lake Como with Giorgio sharing his knowledge of both the lake, surroundings, and villas owned by famous people from the present and past. It was clear that he enjoys his job. Remember to bring your swim suit and towel for a quick swim in Como.

This entire operation is a rip off. The on shore guide is rude, uninformed and unhelpful. In addition to the $331.00 for the trip, they rip you off for another 30 Euros per person for gas. The boat is running a 100 hp Yamaha, with a boat that size, and 7 people on board he would easily get 18-20 MPG, the whole Lake is only 25 miles long. They hit all 6 people on board for an extra 30 Euros. The driver went way too fast, hardly able to see anything longer than a second, hit the waves too fast, killed my back and got the girls in the front of the boat soaked. This entire operation should be shut down.

While the boat ride was a good deal for lake como it was not exactly organized or safe. There was no specifics broken down on the description of the listing so I just assumed we would get a run through of our itinerary.. which was not the case. Also there were 0 safety instructions during the course of the trip. We would ask questions and the driver would either ignore them or just brush them off. He even ended up getting hurt when someone didn’t understand how the back seat worked, thankfully not bad enough to require us to drive. Also the boat is packed like sardines. On a hot and sunny day on como this was so so uncomfortable. If you decide to take this trip bring your own water and other drinks /snacks if you want to enjoy anything before the last 30 minutes of the trip. It was a cheaper way to be on the lake but honestly don’t know that I would do it again,

Filippo was a wonderful guide with great humour, charm and knowledge who was focused on putting the group’s needs first! You can choose what sort of tour you want with him, whether it’s more heavy on the villas and the lake’s history or if you want to swim a bit more in scenic spots. The glass of wine was lovely too!
