Gaston was a knowledgeable and experienced tour guide! Enjoyed every aspect of the tour! Did wish those in the office allowed the tour to begin on time instead of waiting 30 minutes for late comers.

Our guide, Latizzia, was lovely and knowledgeable. She made this tour at least okay. I paid for a colosseum arena floor access ticket and tour with group access to Roman forum/palatine hill. What we got instead was a guided tour of the Roman forum and only 15 min with our guide inside the colosseum with basically no tour. The tour was disorganised at the start. It took more than half an hour from the start time of 10.30 before we even entered the forum. We also waited in line for almost half an hour to get in to the colosseum (the solo entry line was much shorter and faster!). The guide’s radio broke before we got to the colosseum. I am very disappointed in the lack of tour of the colosseum given that is what I paid for… and it was not cheap!

Disappointed that the arena floor part of tour was cancelled. Tour guide was “blah” spending too much time in museum displays. Although the tremendous crowds were certainly in her control, it ruined the experience.

We paid for this tour specifically to get Arena floor access but we were shocked to learn that we COULD NOT do just that! We asked the guide about the arena tour afterwards but she knew nothing about it. Information regarding floor status was NEVER provided upon checking in. When we called the tour company after our tour was done, they said that it was sold out for the day when we bought them. They neglected to mention that. We were also told that we couldn't get a refund directly to my credit card. We instead had to walk back to the tour office where we received only 24 euros instead of what the experience was actually valued in 160 euros difference. It was hot and the walk was not an easy feat to collect the cash refund. Our tour guide was nice enough, but I felt that we missed out on the experience we paid for. I'm disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because we had a decent tour guide.

We were suppose to see the Colosseum first (as a guided tour) and thereafter we could go to the Roman Forum and Palantine Hill on our own. They changed the tour and did the Roman Forum and Palantine Hill first as a guided tour and only after that the Colosseum. We mainly wanted to see the Colosseum and had limited time as we needed to get back to our cruise ship. Due to the changing of the schedule we never got to see the Colosseum from the inside.

Our tour started late and the tour guide did not share interesting facts or stories about the colosseum. It was very general and basic information was repeated several times. We have been on other tours of this that were much more interesting and our teenagers did not enjoy it at all.

Too crowded and I could not hear the guide most of the time. What i thought would be a small group turned out to be 30 people. We also didnt get a chance to go to the arena floor. You are better off going on your own, without the tour.

We had the Colosseum Arena Floor Guided tour scheduled for several months to only find out when we arrived that the vendor could not accommodate us with tickets to the arena floor and that our tickets were changed to a Colosseum tour only. We were very disappointed as we had been on the regular Colosseum tour during a past trip. We were refunded the difference in price of the tour but that was not the point. To make matters worse, the vendor accused us of cancelling the tour via Viator and would not allow us to join the group initially. Another call to Viator straightened out the miscommunication but we missed the entire outside portion of the tour. Very disappointing and I would not recommend this vendor.

I have booked with Viator for many years and this was the worst tour I’ve ever been on. It was very disorganized from the start. When I got to the office we were told that we could not access the arena floor because it was closed. However, once inside the Colosseum, we saw many people on the arena floor. The tour company changed our tour from 3:30 to 3:00 and removed the arena floor from our tour without being truthful. We were asked to come early only to stand in the hot sun for 30 minutes. Once inside the Colosseum, we were moved from one area to another several times, just waiting about another 20 minutes for the tour to start. Once started, the guide talked incessantly without really saying anything. We couldn’t understand most of what she said. After climbing 55 steps up to the top of the Colosseum, the tour guide disappeared with no time or place set to go to the Roman Forum. After waiting another 20 minutes, we walked to the Roman Forum on our own and were told we had to pay 16 euros to enter, a cost which was supposed to be included with our tour. I contacted I Love Italy tours to try to resolve these issues and they have been uncooperative so I highly discourage anyone from booking with this company.
