Francesco, our guide and sommelier, spent the day with us, visiting three fantastic wine estates featuring Brunello di Montalcino wines. We started with La Rasina, then a wine lunch and tasting at Fanti, and finishing at Colsereno. The visits are intimate, meeting the owners at each tasting. Francesco’s insights as a sommelier made the tastings a special experience. Federica, the owner of Do It Tuscany, did an awesome job of coordinating additional tours to make the week in Tuscany special. The food tour of Siena and the cooking class at a Cortona wine estate are also highly recommended. This was the third time we have worked with Do It In Tuscany. We always look forward to seeing Federica and Francesco!

We toured and tasted olive oil and wine with Francesco Fratini. Francesco’s knowledge of both olive oil and wine was incredible. We learned about the different types of pressing of olive oil and what it takes to be categorized as extra virgin olive oil. His knowledge of wine is divine and he taught us about pairing wines with food. We had the best lunch at La Braccesca where we tasted wines. We would definitely recommend Francesco for a fabulous day learning about Olive oil and wine.

My friend and I shared a fantastic day with Francesco, who was a charming, incredibly knowledgeable, pleasant and informative sommelier. This tour is exceedingly well curated, starting at a very large vineyard, and tailoring our experience to a very unique subterranean tasting experience and lunch, and finally to a small, family owned vineyard to end the day, complete with a tour of all the wine making appartus. The tour also provides an hour of time for exploring the town of Montepulciano on our own. I would highly recommend this experience, and would ask for Francesco specifically, if he is available and not traveling the world, learning more about wine!

My husband and I had a glorious day exploring the Montalcino region of Tuscany with Francesco. Francesco is a delight! He is a passionate and knowledgeable sommelier who shares his love for wine and food within a conversation and through an experience. He chose three wonderful vineyards, each delicious and delightful in their own unique way. We tasted beautiful Brunellos, luxurious olive oils, and elegant honey. We talked with amazing winemakers and enjoyed a fabulous lunch. We feasted on the Tuscan countryside and learned about Italian winemaking, history, and culture. And most importantly we laughed and smiled and have a forever friend in Francesco - a friend who broadened and deepened our perspective on wine and food. Forget about travel planning. We left every bit of our daily tours to “Do it in Tuscany” and we don’t regret it. We did multiple wine tours in the region (Chianti, Montepulciano, etc) with Francesco and he was incredibly passionate, knowledgeable and charismatic in his personal tours of the vineyards. Francesco is a 4th generation Cortonian so he has knowledge from the region that even the vineyard owners/workers would not know. Spectacular!!! I learned so much about wine from this region. Frederica and Francesco also arranged a day on Lake Trasimeno and tours of the Castle Island. We even swam in the lake near the castle! A mountain bike was waiting at our villa when we arrived just as requested and we were able to bike all around Cortona. Literally whatever you would like to do in Tuscany, “Do It In Tuscany” can make it happen in a way you could never do on your own. Just do it!!! Paul

This included towns around Cortona, truffle hunting (yes!!), thermal spas, the best food, wine, oil and everything in between! Highly recommend this company for custom adventures. My husband and I were so excited when we were able to get a last minute wine tasting tour. It was so much more than just wine tasting. Francesco our guide was so incredibly knowledgeable about the region and the wines. His depth of knowledge and experience was unbelievable without being arrogant. He was very kind and patient as well. If you get a chance to take a tour it is worth every penny.

This was our first trip to Italy. We we so lucky to have found Francesco! He was our private guide for 3 days. Each day he had a unique itinerary in a difference geographic location. His knowledge of wine, wineries and food pairings is exceptional - I should also mention that I am a level 1 sommelier (US) so when I comment on Francesco's skill, I know what I am talking about. If and when we return to Italy, we will definitely be booking him again.
