We were really looking forward to the tour. The places we saw were great but the English of our guide, her disjointed stories and the pace of the tour were sub par. Do not recommend this guide.

We booked this private tour months in advance and have been to the Colloseum before but never the floor. We got no communication about the last minute cancellation and when we showed we were told we were put into a tour group instead that didn’t go to the floor. The guide on the group had no knowledge of the colloseum or the history of Rome and instead talked about herself and other places. She didn’t even take us to the site of the Colossus or even mention it the entire tour. We did a lot of standing in the sun while she babbled on. It was really terrible and she wasn’t qualified to be a guide at all. I tried not to let it ruin my day but after being dragged through this nonsense we were pretty tired. Now I see they are trying to give the same private tour for a lot more. What an awful operation. Make sure you contact your credit card company for a full refund as they are not willing to provide the contracted service and perform a subpar switch at the last minute and they think they will decide how much partial refund to give. Really funny! I hope this review saves someone the horrible experience we had. Avoid!

Our recent encounter with this company during our trip to rome left us utterly disappointed, frustrated, and empty-handed. My husband and i, eager to explore the rich history of rome, had meticulously planned our itinerary around a highly anticipated tour of the colosseum arena, roman forum, and palatine hill. However, what was meant to be a memorable experience turned into an absolute nightmare thanks to enjoy rome's sheer incompetence and complete disregard for their customers. The day before our scheduled tour, we received a terse and impersonal message from the company stating that they had overbooked and were unable to accommodate us. Can you imagine the shock and disappointment we felt after traveling all the way from australia, only to be informed at the eleventh hour that our plans were shattered? The lack of proper communication and the nonchalant manner in which enjoy rome handled this situation was nothing short of disrespectful. To add insult to injury, the best alternative they could offer was a rescheduled tour a whole week later. By that point, we had already moved on from rome, making their proposed solution utterly useless to us. Despite numerous attempts to contact them through emails and messages on whatsapp, enjoy rome has shown a complete disregard for our concerns, refusing to acknowledge our pleas for a refund or any form of compensation. This level of customer service is simply unacceptable. A reputable tour company should prioritize the satisfaction of its customers and take responsibility for their mistakes. Unfortunately, enjoy rome seems to lack both the professionalism and integrity required to provide a positive experience. Based on our harrowing encounter with enjoy rome tour company, i cannot emphasize strongly enough to avoid this company like the plague. Their incompetence, lack of communication, and unwillingness to rectify their errors demonstrate a total lack of respect for their customers' time, money, and travel aspirations. This was our son’s first time in Rome so we booked this experience for him. It was a great introduction to the history of Rome. Our tour guide, Matias, did not disappoint. He was full of energy and took the time to engage our 14 year old. My other critique is that sometimes he was a little scattered in his organization. That was the only reason for the 4 stars.

I don't think I will book a tour with viator ever again. With less than 18 hours notice, I got a WhatsApp saying our tour had been overbooked and was canceled. Only option given was a week later. not so good for a three-day stop in Rome. After shopping 30 more tours at 11:00 p.m. I was able to book a tour on get your guide which came through for us. That is where I will start next time, not with Viator.

During the tour Francesco provided an excellent description and historical context for the Forum and the Colosseum. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertained/answered all of our questions. There is so much to see and explain, yet Francesco was able to guide us through the sites in a way that we could appreciate key elements of the more than 2000 years of history!
