Your Itinerary

Pompeii Archaeological Park

Begin the day with a pickup from your accommodation or the cruise port at approximately 8:00 - 8:30 am Arrive at the entrance of the site at Pompeii. There, you'll either purchase your entry ticket and explore the ruins on your own or, if you have chosen the option including a guide, you'll meet your licensed tour guide for a tour of the site. In both cases, you have about two hours to explore Pompeii. Founded in 600 B.C., from Greek and Etruscan roots to become an important Roman city. Then on August 24, A.D. 79, everything changed. Vesuvius erupted and began to bury the city under 30 feet of hot volcanic ash. For the archaeologists who excavated it centuries later, the ruins taught them volumes about daily Roman life. Today Pompeii offers the best look anywhere at what life in Rome must have been like around 2,000 years ago. This city of well-preserved ruins is yours to explore. Not rich, not poor, it was middle class—a perfect example of typical Roman life.

This tour operator cancelled on us the Monday before we were supposed to take the tour(on a Wednesday). The only explanation was we were too few...for a private small group tour. There were only 2 of us, but if that were too few to begin with then don't allow the booking. Or cancel within a reasonable amount of time. We were unable to find another tour following this because even when I booked this 6 months prior, tours were filling up fast. Extremely unprofessional. If 2 is too small for a private tour, don't accept the booking. If you need to cancel, do so within a reasonable amount of time. Not 2 days prior

Finally toured Pompeii and it was worth it… Antonino our guide was wonderful… he was so knowledgeable and made the tour engaging, interesting and left us wanting to know more about this amazing place. It was deeply moving to see how people lived in ancient times….highly recommend this tour and Antonino as your guide.

Antonio cancelled our 6/21 Amalfi Coast excursion without notice, I only discovered it when I called him the evening before to provide him with our hotel location for pick up. He said he had emailed me several days earlier to cancel because he was sick. However that was untrue, he actually emailed me several days before on 6/16 CONFIRMING my reservation. I’ve attached a copy of his email because he insists he never confirmed, but here it is. The email also mentions we amended the reservation, but we never did anything other than make a simple straight-forward booking. I’m not sure where is confusion is coming from - whether he mixed up his bookings, got a better offer or perhaps it was a language barrier situation - but the whole situation was unprofessional. I made the reservation months in advance, as I knew we were traveling during high season. His cancellation left us in a lurch, and negatively impacted our travel plans as we only had a few days and had to scramble to reschedule things. Very disappointing. Avoid this unreliable vendor.

Antonio was the absolutely perfect guide who picked us up right from the port (pro tip—make sure you leave the cruise terminal rather than waiting right outside of your cruise ship) and then took us to Pompeii where he showed us all the highlights. He is extremely knowledgeable and his passion for history showed. As a history lover, I really enjoyed the tour and my husband did too! Would highly recommend you book this tour with Antonio for Pompeii!

The tour we booked was amazing. The guides were knowledgeable, the sites were beautiful, and we can't wait to return. We didn't anticipate rain but they did. They had umbrellas and ponchos for us just in case. The van was roomy enough for alll seven of our party. We will definitely use them again.

A must see.... we signed up for the private tour so there were only four of us and it was well worth it. The tour guide was a archeologist and so knowledgeable about Pompeii. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Europe. They picked us up at the docks Royal Caribbean on time and we headed to Pompeii. After the Pompeii tour, our driver took us on a tour of Naples. We had him take us to a good restaurant where the locals eat for lunch and we were delighted with our meal. Highly recommend the private tour of Pompeii

This tour was the perfect way to see Naples /Pompeii, our guide was great. The driver, Antonio, picked us up at the port, The car was comfortable he was prepared and had an iPad in his car where he would highlight the areas as we drove by. Once in Pompeii, our guide was amazing, she was so knowledgeable and pleasant. Pompeii is a must!! After our tour, he dropped us off at the best place in town for pizza, Sorbillo. Excellent area for walking and local shops.

Excellent tour. Our guide was incredible and Pompeii, awe inspiring. Just wish we had a little more time to explore on our own. Half day is really not enough time! Do yourself a favor and pack snacks, lunch and plenty of water. Then plan extra time to just explore on your own. Lovely tour.

Just fantastic. Our driver had lots of information along the way. The car was beautiful and it was such a quick and efficient trip from the cruise port to Pompeii. We got to Pompeii ruins with time to have a coffee before it opened and we then had a good two hours to wander about. Obviously Pompeii is a place you want to spend a day or two visiting the ruins to take it all in but as we were on a cruise ship it was a great tour to book to go see that and then be back to Naples by lunch to wander about the city, get a pizza and be back on our cruise ship. Our driver was fabulous and told us all about the city and points of interest to see, even dropping us in the city so we could wander about and make our own way back to the ship. Really impressed with this booking and would highly recommend.
