Discover more about Knoop Park

Knoop Park is a picturesque retreat located in the heart of Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood. The park is named in honor of Werner C. Knoop, a former Little Rock mayor and influential figure in the city's development. Knoop, born in 1902, had a long career in business and public service, including serving on the Little Rock School Board and as mayor during a tumultuous period in the city's history. The park itself features a paved, half-mile trail that's perfect for walking, running, and stroller walks. The trail offers stunning views of downtown Little Rock and the Arkansas River. Along the path, you'll find benches, a water fountain, and even a dog fountain. The park also includes a monarch waystation, filled with milkweed and nectar resources to support migrating monarchs. Knoop Park's location has historical significance as well. Since 1886, the Little Rock Water Works has been located on the promontory where Knoop Park sits. The park was developed around the same time as the waterworks. The park provides a scenic overlook with views of the Arkansas River and downtown Little Rock.
