Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by entering Rte du Lion 1815, 1420 Braine-l'Alleud into your GPS. From central Hainaut Hills, take the N5 road towards Braine-l'Alleud. Once you reach Braine-l'Alleud, follow the signs for Waterloo Battlefield. There is ample parking available near the site. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, so be prepared with some cash or a card.

• Public Transportation - Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train from any major station in Hainaut Hills to Braine-l'Alleud station. Trains are frequent, but check the local timetable. Once you arrive at Braine-l'Alleud station, exit the station and look for bus services heading to Waterloo. The bus route 365 often connects to Waterloo Battlefield. The total cost for a train ticket will vary, so check the specific fare from your departure station.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  If you're already in Braine-l'Alleud, you can take bus line 365 directly to Waterloo. The bus stop closest to the battlefield is 'Lion's Mound', which is just a short walk from the battlefield entrance. • Walking

  If you prefer to walk from Braine-l'Alleud station, it’s approximately a 30-minute walk to Waterloo Battlefield. Exit the station and head southwest on Avenue du Luxembourg. Follow the road until you reach Rte du Lion. Turn left, and you will find the battlefield entrance ahead. It’s a scenic walk, but be prepared for some hills along the way.
