Exploring the Heart of Montreal: Norman Bethune Square

Getting There

• Metro

  To reach Norman Bethune Square via the Metro, start by locating the nearest Metro station. If you're near downtown, the Peel Metro Station on the Green Line (Line 1) is a good starting point. Board a train heading towards Angrignon and travel for three stops. Get off at the Berri-UQAM station. Here, transfer to the Orange Line (Line 2) towards Côte-Vertu. After one stop, get off at the station called Beaudry. Once you exit the station, head south on Rue de la Visitation until you reach Rue Sainte-Catherine, then turn right. Continue for about four blocks until you see Norman Bethune Square on your left.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take the bus, find the nearest bus stop with routes heading to downtown Montreal. For instance, you can take the 15 bus from any major route. Board the bus and ride until you reach the stop at Rue Sainte-Catherine and Rue de la Montagne. From there, walk east on Rue Sainte-Catherine for about five blocks. You will arrive at Norman Bethune Square, which will be on your right.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Ville-Marie borough, walking to Norman Bethune Square is a pleasant option. Depending on your starting point, navigate towards Rue Sainte-Catherine. For example, if you are near the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, head east on Rue Sherbrooke until you reach Rue de la Montagne, then turn left and walk down to Rue Sainte-Catherine. Turn right on Rue Sainte-Catherine and walk straight for about ten minutes. You will find Norman Bethune Square on your right, just before reaching the intersection with Rue de Bleury.
