  If you're traveling by car from Northwest Colorado, follow US-287 S from cities like Steamboat Springs or Fort Collins. Continue south until you reach I-25 S. Merge onto I-25 S and follow it for approximately 100 miles. Take exit 119 for US-50 E towards La Junta. Stay on US-50 E for about 50 miles, passing through La Junta. When you reach Hasty, turn left onto County Road 24. The entrance to John Martin Reservoir State Park will be on your right after about 2 miles. Make sure to check your fuel levels as services can be sparse in rural areas.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. However, you can take a bus from larger towns like Pueblo to La Junta via Greyhound or another local bus service. Once in La Junta, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Hasty, as public transport does not extend to the park.
