Getting There

  • Car

    From La Fortuna Waterfall, head southwest on Route 142 toward La Fortuna. Continue on Route 142 for approximately 10 kilometers. You will pass by several scenic viewpoints of Arenal Volcano. Once you reach the junction with Route 4, turn right. Continue on Route 4 for about 15 kilometers until you see signs for The Peninsula, Arenal Volcano National Park. Turn left onto Calle Real el Castillo. The park entrance will be on your right. Note that there is an entrance fee to the park, which is approximately $10 per person.

    From La Fortuna Waterfall, walk to the main bus station in La Fortuna. Catch a bus heading toward San Carlos or any bus that shows a stop for ‘La Fortuna’ on its route.
