Car
If you are driving from the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, head east on Route 606 towards Tilarán. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers. When you reach the intersection with Route 145 in Tilarán, make a left turn onto Route 145. After about 7 kilometers, you will see signs for Cerro San Jose on your right. Follow these signs, and in about 2 kilometers, you will reach the parking area for Cerro San Jose. Please note that there might be a small parking fee charged.

Public Transportation
To take public transport, you will need to first get to the nearest bus station in Monteverde. From there, take a bus to Tilarán. The bus ride typically takes around 1 hour and costs approximately $2. Once you arrive in Tilarán, you can either take a taxi (which will cost around $10) directly to Cerro San Jose, or you can walk to the bus terminal in Tilarán and catch a local bus heading towards the direction of Cerro San Jose. Be sure to ask the driver if the bus stops near Cerro San Jose.
