Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Sule Pagoda, head southwest on Sule Pagoda Rd towards Bogyoke Aung San Rd. Continue on Bogyoke Aung San Rd for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Anawrahta Rd. Turn left onto Anawrahta Rd and walk straight for approximately 1.5 km. You will pass the Mahabandoola Garden on your right. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Zi Wa Ka St. Turn right onto Zi Wa Ka St, and you will find the Tomb of Bahadur Shah Zafar about 500 meters down this street on your left.

    From the Yangon Central Railway Station, take bus number 56 or 99. Board the bus and stay on until you reach the stop at 'Maha Bandula Park'. Once you get off, walk towards Sule Pagoda and then follow the same walking directions provided previously towards Zi Wa Ka St. The tomb is located about a 15-minute walk from Maha Bandula Park.
