If you are starting from the Octagon, head east on George Street towards the intersection with Rattray Street. Once you reach the intersection, turn right onto Rattray Street and continue walking straight. St. Joseph's Cathedral will be on your left at the corner of Rattray Street and Smith Street, just a few blocks away. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes.

From the Octagon, catch any bus heading towards Central Dunedin. Make sure to check the bus timetable as services may vary. Get off at the stop on Rattray Street, which is close to the intersection with Smith Street. From the bus stop, walk a short distance down Rattray Street towards the corner, and you will see St. Joseph's Cathedral on your left.
