Once you reach Kawakawa, take State Highway 11 towards Paihia. Continue on SH11 until you reach the town of Opua. From Opua, follow the signs to the Opua Ferry Terminal. You will need to take the ferry across the bay to Russell. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes and costs around NZD 15 per person. After arriving in Russell, head towards the northern coast and follow the signs to Rawhiti. Continue along the coastal road until you reach the end of the road at Rawhiti. From here, you will need to access the island via a boat, as there are no direct road routes to Motukokako Island.
