Getting There

• Bus

  From Santiago de Compostela, head to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Santiago, which is located at Avenida de José García Goldaraz, 6. You can either walk (about 15 minutes from the city center) or take a local bus to reach the station. Once at the bus station, look for a bus heading to 'Vilagarcía de Arousa' or 'Ribeira'. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Buses operate regularly, so check the schedules on the day of your travel. Upon arrival at Vilagarcía de Arousa, exit the bus and locate the bus stop for local buses heading to 'Ponte da Illa de Arousa'. Board the bus, and after a short ride of around 20 minutes, you will arrive at the bridge.

• Train and Bus

  Begin your journey by heading to the Santiago de Compostela train station, which is located at Avenida de Rosalía de Castro, 49. You can take a local bus or taxi to reach the train station from the city center. Once at the train station, purchase a ticket for a train to 'Vilagarcía de Arousa'. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour. After arriving at Vilagarcía de Arousa, exit the train station and search for the local bus stop. Take a bus heading to 'Ponte da Illa de Arousa'; the journey will take about 20 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the bridge.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Santiago de Compostela. Head to Avenida de la Libertad and follow the signs toward the 'Ruta del Mar'. The route is approximately 30 kilometers long and follows the scenic coastline, leading you towards Vilagarcía de Arousa. Once you reach Vilagarcía, continue cycling towards Ponte da Illa de Arousa.
