Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Nassau, walk to Bay Street, which is the main thoroughfare. Head east on Bay Street until you reach the intersection with George Street. Turn right onto George Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Elizabeth Avenue. Turn left on Elizabeth Avenue and walk straight. You will see signs directing you towards Fort Fincastle. Continue walking until you reach the base of Bennet's Hill, where you will see the entrance to Fort Fincastle. The walk should take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

• Public Bus (Jitney)

  From downtown Nassau, board a jitney (local bus) on Bay Street heading towards the eastern side of the island. You can catch a jitney at any jitney stop along Bay Street. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop nearest to Fort Fincastle, typically referred to as the 'Fort Fincastle stop.' Once you disembark, walk up the hill to the entrance of Fort Fincastle, which is clearly marked. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any location in Nassau. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Fort Fincastle. The ride from downtown Nassau should take about 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis are readily available and can be hailed from the street or booked through your hotel.
