The Stagecoach bus service operates several routes that connect towns like Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, and Cupar to St Andrews. Once you arrive at St Andrews bus station, it’s a 15-minute walk to West Sands Beach. Simply exit the bus station, head west on City Road, turn right onto North Street, and continue straight until you reach the beach.   For those already in St Andrews, walking to West Sands Beach is a pleasant option. From the town center, you can take the scenic route along the Scores, which offers stunning coastal views. Walk towards the west from the town, following the coastal path until you reach the beach. This walk takes about 20-30 minutes but offers a beautiful experience and great photo opportunities along the way.
