Getting There

• Car

As you approach Mù Cang Chải, follow the signs towards Dế Su Phình. Continue on QL32, and look for the signs indicating Sống lưng khủng long (Dinosaur Backbone). There are several viewpoints along the way, and you can stop for photos. Once you arrive at R42H+9VG (the GPS coordinates), you will need to park your car nearby and walk to the observation deck.

• Bus

  For public transportation, take a bus from Yên Bái city to Mù Cang Chải. Buses leave from the Yên Bái bus station. The journey typically takes about 4-5 hours. Once you arrive in Mù Cang Chải, you can hire a motorbike taxi (xe ôm) or a local taxi to take you to Sống lưng khủng long. Ensure to agree on a fare before starting the ride. The cost for the motorbike taxi to the site may range from 50,000 to 100,000 VND depending on negotiation.

Riding a motorbike allows for more flexibility to stop and explore the scenic views along QL32. Remember to wear a helmet and have your valid driving license. The cost to rent a motorbike is typically around 150,000 to 200,000 VND per day.
