Your Itinerary
Petrusse Casemates
(Pass by)
We drive along the Petruss Casemates, the ruins of the medieval fortress of Luxembourg. These Casemates are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. They date back to the time when the Spanish modernized the medieval fortifications and built large bastions such as the Bastion Beck, on whose plateau lies the present Constitution Square. They have been open to the public since 1933.
Panoramic Elevator of the Pfaffenthal
(Pass by)
During the city train ride, participants will pass the made of glass panoramic lift in the old town of Pfaffenthal.
Le Chemin de la Corniche
(Pass by)
The Chemin de la Corniche runs along the Alzette vally on the ramparts from the Bock Promontory up to the lower part of the Holy Ghost Citadel, the so-called Rondellen.
Les Rives de Clausen
(Pass by)
The so-called Rives de Clausen form a district of bars and restaurants, established on the site of the former Luxembourg beer brewery “Mousel”. Situated along the Alzette, the Rives de Clausen appeal to a wide variety of tastes and attract a very cosmopolitan public, which is typical for Luxembourg. The Rives de Clausen are also part of a larger plan to enhance the suburbs of the former fortress.
Plateau du Rham
(Pass by)
The Rham Plateau proudly overlooks three sides of the Alzette valley and offers a stunning view of the old city of Luxembourg. It has been an integral part of Luxembourg’s fortifications since the 15th century and was later expanded by Vauban with four imposing military barracks, currently used as modern and comfortable housing for seniors.
Take the opportunity to stop for a few minutes, stroll amongst the century-old plane trees, and walk up to the promontory behind the ruins of the four towers. Once at the top, you will have a breathtaking view of the old fortifications, the Holy-Ghost Citadel and the Corniche.

The history was very interesting to learn, and I enjoyed the ride. There was a bit of bad weather and I was glad to have a covered place to view the sights.

Had a lovely time.Very informative.
It was pelting with rain so was very happy to be sitting in a covered train.
Our driver was brilliant very friendly and professional.
The train journey was completed under 45 mins but hey I can live with that.

Interesting commentary. Lovely buildings and some very nice views. A good way to see the Petrusse valley for those unable to walk down and back up.

If you’re going to do this. Do it early in your trip. It’s a great way of getting around and getting your bearings. Very informative, the driver was great and very enthusiastic.

Very cute little train. Suitable for the very young or adults and older. Go on a cool day. Driver/host was very friendly, helpful and could speak multiple languages. Walking tours are very strenuous here (you are either going up or down, not many flats.) This was a welcome break.

Fabulous tour!!
1/2the price of hop one-off bus tour but worth twice the price!
It was a great way to see the lower town and audio was very informative - loved the voice of a little boy. The 2 voices kept my attention.

We arrived at the 2nd spot of the train. The guide told us to move to the 1st spot and wait there. We waited 30+ min before the train arrive, they were 10 min later than de time on the board. That’s fine, because we understand the busy road.
We bought a ticket by card at the guide. He told us to wait another 20 min for the other train, his train didn’t ride..
We did wait and we got on board. The driver went slowly 25km/h. I had fun on board.
It was a long wait after all, but a fun tour.
They tell you about the history of the places and you’ll understand the name of Luxemburg and you’ll hear stories about the castle of the king and where he sent his stuff to (Madrid).
I liked it. It was fun.

The train ride is through traffic and it smells awful. I would even mind, but the guide you listen to is totally off, randomly stops in the middle of the story . Overall we didn't like it.
Plus the expensive parking, horrible traffic to get there and a traffic ticket for speeding 3 km ending up costing us 80Euro, since the rental car company charges on top of the 50euro ticket. You can't see the evidence unless you are personally present at the police station.
Luxemburg is not worth the trip. Go to Germany or France
