I enjoyed walking around here on a beautiful spring day. It is easy to get to via the Metro North from Grand Central to the Botanical Garden stop. Twenty minute ride and the station is right at the entrance. The Alice in Wonderland exhibit was on when I was there. The tram ride is included and is informative. Don’t miss the rose garden and the conservatory.

A beautiful place to see flora and fauna together. Amazing trees, beautiful places to relax at, a cafe to eat , well tended flowerbeds and wildflower arrangements. Something for everybody rain or shine.

I didn't think I'd be that bothered about botanical gardens as I'm not majorly into plants, but I went to the orchid show and was blown away by how amazing everything looked. It was so peaceful in the gardens too. I ended up buying a yearly pass, but my pass didn't come in time to one of the free tickets to take my friend to the gardens, so I reached out to membership support and a great guy called Matthew sent me tickets until mine pass arrives, he was so nice. If you don't care about plants, go, you'll still love it. If you do care about plants, you'll be in heaven.

If you’re an orchid fan, the entire conservatory has orchids throughout, you can spend hours, it’s magical. Consider taking the tram ride around the park when you first arrive, it’s a great way to plan out your visit. We were pleasantly surprised with the amazing sandwiches in the cafe, and lovely staff who made us feel quite welcome.

What a lovely place - a real tranquil setting away from the hustle/bustle of the city. Lovely grounds, great trees/shrubs and plenty of wildlife around - extremely peaceful. We saw blue jays & a humming bird, both of which we don’t get back in the UK. We took the metro from Grand Central Station, which required a change to a bus in the Bronx, when in fact the train (only a few dollars more expensive) was far quicker and arrives opposite the side entrance to the gardens. Would come back again when next in New York.

Honestly, the entire experience was good overall. It was my first time going with my mom and although she was tired, she also had a good experience that was somewhat new for her due to her not going there for several years, so some things and places were brand new to her. Most of the staff there are truly nice, knowledgeable and efficient at their jobs.

In the freshness of the garden, we strolled along the paths, forgetting all our troubles and enjoying the natural serenity. It was the perfect day after the rain. All the blooms smiled at us and the birds welcomed our company.

Not as kid friendly as I hoped. We took grandchildren, ages 7 & 4. They didn’t find enough to interest them, even in the children’s garden. We were hoping to find more experiences like those at Longwood Gardens in Chester County, PA. There they have a beautiful and interactive children’s garden with water features, treehouses to explore, and interesting topiary…just to name a few of the features that the kids loved.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. We spent several hours here. Gorgeous grounds, be prepared to walk dress comfortably. Want to come back in the fall.
