St. Paul's Cathedral
We start off in the shadow of this beautiful symbol of London. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.
Postman's Park
Visit this one time cemetery which is now a beautiful Secret Garden and learn about the Victorian memorial which commemorates those who lost their lives whilst attempting to save those of others.
Barbican
Some love the Barbican and some hate it. You'll get to make up your own mind as we go and visit a spot where a hero policeman saved countless lives during WW1
Farringdon
Now a fashionable and trendy area, Farringdon was once desperately poor and we will visit several locations related to people who died and are commemorated at Postman's Park
Smithfield Market
We will pass through this old meat market that has served London for getting on towards a millennia.
St Bartholomew's Hospital
A tremendously historic location that few visit (except on our tours). Don't let the quiet backwater appearance it has now fool you as to what murky events it has seen.
St Bartholomew's Gatehouse
A beautiful ancient gatehouse is the gateway to a fantastically old church and churchyard that you may well have seen on television shows and movies.
Old Bailey
Along this stretch we will see where public executions took place outside the oldest court in the Western world. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.
Blackfriars Bridge
Nothing to do with skin colour as we'll see as we meander through this historic part of London before crossing the river
Bankside
We will visit another location related to Postman's Park as well as seeing some wonderful old Alms Houses and the one-time biggest brothel in Europe.
Tate Modern
In times gone by, a smoky polluting power station but now the worlds largest modern art gallery. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.
Shakespeare's Globe
Though we pass by The Globe, there is much more to see here as we enter a part of London that still very much looks like what it did in Victorian London
Borough Yards
Pass through what were lanes and alleys that have been closed for centuries but now London's newest urban chic shopping outlets.
The Clink Prison Museum
Learn about the most notorious prison in the country, if not at one point the world. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.
Winchester Palace
Medieval ruins that set the tone for the final section of our tour. Note: Tour will take place outside the attraction.
London Bridge
Another of our Victorian Angels tragically lost their live here.
Borough Market
We will pass through this famous old market that was of course a great place to pick a pocket or two.
Crossbones Graveyard & Garden of Remembrance
Possibly the only such place on the planet. A poignant spot that even today has connections with the poor, downtrodden and occasionally criminal elements of society who tragically lost their lives.
Red Cross Cottages & Garden
Learn about a Victorian lady who pioneered reform and spoke up for the poor of London. We will also see memorials to perhaps the most famous name remembered at Postman's Park.
Southwark Bridge
We will end this tour with a walk through some truly forgotten backstreets in this firmly tourist-free zone but that just makes it more charming and a more authentic experience for you. Our last spot will be the place where Alice Ayres died saving the lives of children. A story that touched the world and one that will ensure the bravery of 'Our Alice' lives on.
