No visit to Sicily is complete without a trip to Mount Etna. And one could not have a better organization to plan and carry out the adventure than Etna People. They provide customers with a great deal of preparatory information beforehand and have helpful tips on what to wear and what to carry. On the journey they supply shoes and jackets if needed. Ordinary sneakers are not the best to wear for some of the walking unless they have very good tread. The views are highly impressive and make the trip worthwhile, but the guide that we had was even more impressive and informative, mixing personal lore and experience with historical perspectives. Vincenzo was great. We learned a great deal and enjoyed it immensely. It was probably the most interesting and satisfying activity we engaged in during the two weeks that we were in various parts of Sicily. Do not pass the opportunity by!

Fabulous tour day that went by easily. We had pickup of a total of 8 fun and enjoyable guests in Taormina by Riccardo our guide who drove us to Lava caves where we were outfitted with cozy warm jackets, helmets headlamps and comfortable fitted hiking boots (we’d given our sizes at booking). After this interesting and informative walk and exploration of the unique caves, onward to Mt. Etna accessed from the north side. All the way he kept us engaged & entertained with interesting facts and competent driving! At Mt. Etna we were met by our volcanologist guide and transferred to capable 4x4 vans with a driver who drove us even higher on the bumpy terrain. Disembarked to view sites of previous eruptions! Scenery amazing & immense. Guided walks up to iconic viewpoints and hearing the fascinating facts about Mt Etna’s geology & history. Then a descent as we returned to enjoy with our tour mates an unexpected delight of a full sampler lunch at a bustling vineyard restaurant, with red & white wine samplers & even a chaser of delicious almond sweet wine afterward! Then the afternoon was capped off by a drive to and shady walk down to the utterly lovely Alcantara Gorge where some of us donned our swimwear or shorts and water shoes for a refreshing careful self-directed walk/hike in the flowing (shallow-at this time) river while admiring the unique basalt formations. Blissful! Then back to our starting places in Taormina. Thank you Riccardo for the excellent day, and our Etna volcano guide & 4x4 driver! And thanks to Etna People office staff especially Claudia who managed to fit us into this tour and patiently answered all our questions !!

Etna people deliver and then some , my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out , lava caves , ascending Mt Etna , the winery and lunch which was a fantastic array of local foods and finally topping off our day at the stunningly unique Alcantara gorge . Overall great value for money and a fantastic start to our Sicilian adventure, special shout out to our awesome guide Roberto who kept us all entertained with his stories and information .

This company is outstanding. Guide was interesting and well educated in geology and culture of the region. Equipment supplied for lava cave exploration and small groups so not herded into a large bus. Highly recommended!

Daniele was an excellent guide for our easy top tour of Mt Etna. The communication of the company was amazingly efficient and there was a swift pick up from Taormina. My 9 year old daughter unfortunately suffered from travel sickness but Daniele was really accommodating in sorting the less bumpy vehicle for her! His knowledge of the area was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Great tour! The max for the group was 8 but our group was 7 people. Etna people were very responsive with emails and whatsApp texts. Roberto, our tour guide spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful with the entire group. The tour was not to physically taxing. The lunch at the winery was the perfect mid day break before heading to the Alcantara Gorges. It was a long day and we never felt rushed.

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing time during our small-group full day adventure with Etna People. Marco is a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide who led our tour where we got to hike up beautiful Mount Etna, enjoyed a delicious lunch paired with flavorful red and white wine, explored a volcanic cave that was discovered in 1776 and toured a river where we took breathtaking photos. You will not be disappointed. Get out there and enjoy the adventure that awaits. Thank you again Marco for a very memorable experience.

We did the full day tour from Taorima and Marco was our tour guide. There were a total of 8 people on our tour. Marco picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. After everyone was picked up, we drove to the north side of Mount Etna. Along the way, Marco told us all about the towns we were driving through as well as provided us with an education about volcanoes and specifically mount Etna. He answered all of our questions. Our first stop was to see the lava caves. We wore helmets with headlamps and learned a lot. I recommend wearing hiking boots for this and for hiking around the top area of Etna. After this, we got back in the van and drove to the highest area you can go to in the van. The van was very comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone's stuff in the trunk area. There was a bathroom break in this area. Bring 50 cents per person for that. At this point, we boarded the large trucks to go to the top with the volcanologist. He educated us about Etna . We did hikes at 2 different elevations. It was a terrific experience not to be missed. Following the ride back down the volcano,( there is time to go to the bathroom again) we boarded the van and drove to lunch. Lunch was at a vineyard. The vineyard was so beautiful They had harvested the grapes 3 weeks prior to us coming. A representative told us about the vineyard and the wine. We tried 2 different types of wine( white and a red wine). We were served a personal Charcuterie board which was delicious. For dessert, we had a liquor and biscotti. I changed into my bathing suit in the bathroom for the next part of the trip. Following lunch, we went to the Alcantara gorge You should bring water shoes or flip flops. There are about 200 steps that you have to walk down and up if you want to go to the gorge. The water is very cold!!! It isn't very deep. I think the deepest part that we walked to was almost waist level. We had a lot fun despite the cold water. This tour was the highlight of our vacation. I highly recommend this tour and if you can try to book it with Marco as your tour guide. he was fabulous. You might want to bring a bottle of water with you.

We spend a lot of time researching the various tour options for Mt. Etna tour. We ended up settling on the EtnaPeople "Top Easy Tour". And this tour was perfect for our group with ages ranging from 30s to 70s. While this tour didn't include a full summit experience it did bring us up to 9500' via comfortable 4x4 vehicles. It also included several stops detailed on the EtnaPeople website, and a very nice lunch at a winery. The tour was ably led by Roberto who was fun, knowledgeable and very engaging. As a veteran of many small group tours it is fair to say that Roberto was the best guide I have experienced.

Toni was so knowledgable and informative. There was nothing he didn’t know about Etna, geology, Sicilian history or it’s agriculture. A great day out and we learned so much. Better than your average day tour. We were well looked after from start to finish. Thanks very much. Debbie
